deadass what I'd call the best of the niche genre of "puzzle-horror-RPG"
some actually decent scares, puzzles that require a fair amount of genuine thought to complete, and even some new content compared to the RPG Maker original that is both very fun and visually a fair bit different!
a worthwhile experience whether you have or haven't played the original.

The one thing the original has over this is the character sprites, The ones in the original felt more fitting with the environments despite mostly being edited RPG Maker Default Sprites
the new ones clash just a little bit with the environment and have less detailed walking sprites but that's such a nitpick LOL

I originally wrote my review when I was around 2 hours into the game and it just kept getting better

the story is FANTASTIC
the characters are amazingly written
the plot leaves so much mystery for future chapters

it's all so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good, highly recommend playing
