Solid, enjoyable, and diverse gameplay. I hope they continue to polish and add features like living freighters and living space stations. The fishing update was better than I expected! I enjoy fishing mini-games and this one kept me engaged for more than a few hours. I'm going to need a way to figure out how to store 300 different space ships though.....

Now that Ark: Survival Ascended is out, the "old" game is being kept alive by people running their own servers. This has lead to some of the most fun interaction and gaming I've had on Ark in YEARS. The official servers going down might have spelled the end for updates, but the community at this point is fantastic. If you haven't, buy this when it's on crazy Steam sale and then funnel a donation or two to the community you find in searching the alt servers. Absolutely worth doing.

I love the feel of fear when I've got an amazing build that is just as deadly to me as to anyone around me. 100% RECOMMEND.

This is simply a good-ass time. There are enough mechanics that you can deep-dive and get 5-digits of damage on bullets but you don't HAVE to do that to enjoy the game. And that first win, it feels GOOD.

Classic FPS with horror elements and bullet-time. Best of the cheesy ragdoll physics and will probably run over 60 FPS on your machine.

It's come a long way and if you don't mind games not being 100%, the FUN factor of this game is immense.


Edit: Almost 3 years later and it's still "Hey here's new items" and not "Hey, here's a point to the game other than 'don't die'." If it's on sale, go for it. I'm tempted to reinstall the mod at this point.

Amazing fun. I'm on my 3rd or 4th playthrough and I find things I don't remember each time. Good size map, great easy-play AND I can't wait to try VR when I get my rig set up.

Other than not having the hardware to run this like it deserves, I really enjoy playing it.
