Didn't fancy getting involved in that Dead Space thread but just letting you know that you can save as much as you like on Impossible mode. You get one save slot but you can overwrite it as many times as you like.

If you die, the game gives you the option of continuing on Hard (instead of impossible) or autodeleting your save. You can get round this by quitting to desktop if you think you'll die or by copying your save file in your game files.
