This game used to be functional and have 0 crash issues on my PC (and as an AMD user too).

Then they added mod support....now, I cannot play any game without it CTD at random....no patterns of the crashes, just happens whenever the f*ck it wants.

So, because this game is a saggy piece of sh*t crashing whenever I play (WITH OR WITHOUT MODS, AND REMOVING ALL....yes ALLLL MY FILES AND REINSTALLING), I am giving this game a 4/10.

Was a beautiful game before mods, now the mods are poorly optimizing the game and causing me, and countless others intermitent CTD or BSODs....so, no....shame on you Bethesda for pooping on the PC community with this sh*t.

EDIT:

So, after I gave up, I decided to toss a hail-mary: I deleted all cloud save data, local files, and anything Fallout 4 related on my PC.

I then reinstalled it, booted it up, and made a new save (WITH MODS PRELOADED WITH BETHESDA IN-GAME MOD SUPPORT, NOT NMM) And after playing for the past 5 hours, I have not crashed once. I believe the true reason my game kept CTD intermittently was due to conflict b/w the in-game Bethesda supported mods and load order with the Nexus mods/load list and order, as well as a conflict with Fallout4.exe and F4SE.exe (Fallout 4 Script Extender)

My diagnosis: use the mods supported by Bethesda in the game, and refrain from using NMM. It's nice and all, but it can cause A LOT of issues doing it both ways (giggity).

So, after coming back from a long time away, this game has earned my trust, and eased my contention once more.

A nice change of pace form the over-realistic shooters with zombies, for something a little more low-key.

But what's phenomenal is this game came out in 2017, and it's still going strong! And this game was programmed by a teenager...and it's STILL going.

Kudos and much love to this game...has brought hours of good fun with friends, and also just lots to do in this oversimplified DayZ clone.

Also, FTP: which is a major win...AND Singleplayer mode, which I wish more DayZ-esk games would do!!!

For the most part, this game plays very well. My only complaint as of this moment is the buggy conditions of items and the environment, but I know it is only in Alpha stage. The only other thing to complain about is the resolution scaling jump from 1200x800 to 640x400...or whatever it is. I hope they add an additional resolution to 800x600, because that would make gameplay for lower class PCs like mine more enjoyable visually, of course though, it is not laggy for 600, just would be nice to have an 800x600 res! Otherwise, great game! Was very pleased to discover the new "Peaceful" mode in the game. Made playing and surviving *MUCH* easier. Very good game! : ) Look forward to future updates!

For the most part, I am really happy with the feel/rhythm of the game, and how it plays. However, I have only one complaint: prices for upgrades. It's not too much of an issue, but I just think that the only con of the game is how expensive items are to proceed forward. I know for a fact that ACOG Sights are not over 100Ks, and yet in this game, an ACOG on the M16 is roughly $120,000. I literally only have the 3rd unlocked Rifle, and the 2nd unlocked Pistol. I am currently lvl 11, but the issue is the pricey things I wish to customize (ie Mods, Attachments, Paints, etc.) Overall though, this game is simply a blast! If you are someone who finds thrills in robbing banks, jewelry stores, and so on (IN VIDEO GAMES), this is for you! Also, *FOR ANYONE HAVING ISSUES WITH LAG, ETC.*, try switching up your resolution. I have mine set to 800x600 (lowest setting) but with highest graphics and player animations. This helped speed up and improve the quality of my gameplay. YouTube did not answer how to make this game run smoothly, but this did. Enjoy, and have a good PAYDAY! >:)
(P.S. does anyone here know how to remove red static graphics? Everything I look at has red staticky graphics all around, and only is not quite as visible as long as my anti-aliasing is completely off. Help?)

I bought this game last night, and I must say, it kept me up; busy. This is by far one of the coolest, yet horrifyingly possible, games I have ever played. With your first Bacterial Illness to be spreaded across the world, the addiction begins. The game has much potential, and I would like to see the following improvements in the following areas:

More types of plagues: Zombies. I think I am not alone when I say I would love to start a worldwide apocolypse with zombies in this game! Making all forms of them, and since there is a plain upgrades, I cannot see why instead of plain symptom upgrades for a zombie outbreak, have them be upgrades to the zombies' abilities! They can charge and contact infects, they could explode, they could spit/vomit, they could do all sorts of things: biting, sneezing (thats a bit redundant, but still!), you can fill in the blanks! Overall, make a dedicated zombie outbreak as one of the plague types, and this would be one step ahead of the game!

More Interactivity: Close up views of people and footage. I have seen people display a request to see more on ground view in the game, and I have to agree. Showing pictures of the same city in several different countries is a bit boring, from time to time. I only suggest you add people moving, as a start to build a completely new interative map. Also, perhaps you can add filters to the map, like thermal signitures, night time with all city lights on, toggle on/off clouds, etc. Overall though, the game has a great interface and zoom feature, so that part suffices! :)

Finally, Multiplayer: CO-OP and VS. I know this is already being worked on, and I know you know. But I think if you're going to do this, you may want some input, so here: I can already assume you will have two players choose to be on a team, the humans, or the plague. If this is gonna be a 2 plague, you may want to expand your reaches. If two people are teamed up as the plague against the CPU humans, the world would fall WAY more easily. However, I propose you add background events, like a shuttle has landed on mars with people, and in the next two-five years, you add people colonizing to mars. I dont know, I just think if you have two people taking over the world with two seperate plagues, or even just one is plainly unfair. Of curse though, if there is only a 1 person limit to each team, then this is all rubbish. I can only wait and see what curveballs your development team will throw at us when a friend and I play and he has the whole human race behind him, and will be able to decide how to wipe me out!

In conclusion, this game is unique, scary, but tons of fun! I cannot wait to hear and see more improvements and updates!

4.5/5! : )

I tried to replay this game, but even with making the game easier and adjusting video settings, the game demands too much graphically.

This game used to run simpler graphics and perform very well. I enjoyed the addition of the skills mechanic, but now its gone too far.

Oh, and objects look like absolute sh*t....I walkled into a kitchen with what I assumed to be a frying pan on the ground? Oh silly me, there's that darned landmine I forgot all about....yeah, A F*CKING LANDMINE....REALLY?

So, with all the changes and unneccessarily high taxation on my GPU, I am probably never going to install this game again.

Huge letdown, coming from someone who played this on a crappier PC and Laptop prior to my gaming PC and had BETTER performance.

I merely stumbled upon this while watching several YouTubers play this game (ie LordMinion777, BestInSlot, etc.), and honestly, I was expecting to buy another laggy game by accident. You know, the kind where you are lagging to the point of insanity; unable to play your purchase?! However, when I went to launch it, Javascript came up. That was when I knew: this was going to be a great lag-free experience! Everyone who owns a Mac: This will not disappoint. Of course, you may want to watch gameplay of it first, to get familiar. But otherwise, this is a flowing game! The dynamics of it are great, and the crafting is very simplistic: making gameplay fun to any new players! I highly recommend it. There are in fact three modes of play, one of which mut be unlocked by beating the game once. The Adventurer is for all easy play; with little predator NPCs and such, and easy spawns. The Survivor gamemode installs fears like you wouldn't believe. Sharks and other predators spawn more frequently, and have a higher count, making exploration a nightmare. Finally, there is the sandbox mode, where you take any gold you've found in any of the other two gamemodes and decide what items you spawn with, the map seed, and so on.

Overall, I would recommend it to those who want an easy, laid back, material-mining gaming experience, with the beauty of the ocean's depths!

(Only con here to report is the bug where sound in the game sorta stops, unless you quit and re-enter the game. Idk if thats happened to anyone else, but it is for me!)

So, this game has undergone SOOOOO much change since the vanilla legacy build.

It's reached a point where you have two options: die a lot from scientists, or git guud.

The addition to scientists begs the question as to why they got rid of zombies, but brought in dudes with Hazmat suits, M4s, and Handheld GMs....very hard to kill, might I add!

I dunno, an admin was telling me the spawn rate in the vanilla realm is abscene (like 10x higher than the modded server was at, and even THEN there were a lot of them by the roads). It's an interesting idea, but as of now, it sucks.

I am glad they got rid of XP and levels, that was a stupid mistake, and now have safe zones where you can bring scraps and buy stuff! That's neat!

Choppers are still a pain in the ass, as usual.

All in all, this game is currently a hit or miss, but fun when you find the right server full of fun guys/gals to play with (which can be hard to come by).

7.5/10 in its current state. Building is still very intuitive and flows well, and lots of weapons have been added since then.

I recommend it when its on sale!
