Gud sequel to Portal, with a dingus & cynical bish for comic-relief. Added multi-player & hats to play with friends. Also user-made levels that let you try your hand at making one.

Pros:
+comic relief
+good replayability

Cons:
-may-mays made from it
-user-created levels that are over-complicated/ untested/ are glitchable
-still no cake

I shot a gun that makes holes (not bullet holes, warps) and killed a crazy, homicidal, omnipotent robot.

Pros:
+replayability
+fun to play when you're out, but need to conserve battery life
+samba radio

-GlaDos' a bish

Hat trading simulator '07 is updated quite often, so there's lots to always do. It's free-to-play, with a "tiny" paywall to be able to have a good reputation in it.
Here's Mail's guide to play hat simualtor '07:
1:play the FPS sidegame to earn what's called Random drops, which are commonly weapons to use in the sidegame
2:If you get duplicates of a random drop (weapons only) you can craft them together to make what's called a "scrap metal", instead of just deleting them
3: once you have 3 "scrap metals" you can craft what's called a "reclaimed metal"
4: once you have 3 "reclaimed metals" you can make a "refined metal"
5: rinse & repeat until you have enough "refined metal" (commonly referred to as "ref") to trade for a hat, or craft one yourself.
6:play the FPS sidegame confidently and not be called "FPS noob"

Pros:
+sidegame is fun
+easy to find a main
+acheivements to get a fanfare
+uhhh fun...

Cons:
-it takes a while to get hats
-minges, hackers, and ragers, oh my!
-crate drops

Another under-rated game, Synergy is essentially a mod for HL2, among others (BMS, etc.) where you play through the game, but with other people (ERMAGHERD) to show off how well you can sppedrun through the game, or find glitches where you can get trapped by a CP (Civil protection) 4 teh lulz.

Pros:
+fun
+addicitve
+custom maps
+STRIIIIDEEEER (v+3 while looking at strider)
+playermodels
+private server making

Cons:
-lack of players
-ragers
-server crashes suck on the end of long levels
-console req'd for playermodel to stay if you happen to do !models

Afternote: make sure you have episodic HL2's to play on most servers, and it's free of cost (as far as I know)

It'll take 4+ hours to master the movement, but worth it, seriously, PLAY/ BUY THIS GAME, IT NEEDS PLAYERS!

Good singleplayer, and multiplayer, featuring near-infinite things to do, built a cool contraption? Feel free to post it to the workshop, and let others check it out, good with LUA? Feel free to make full-out addons to add to the infinite addons there already is out there. Only thing is if you don't really have that strong of a cpu, or connection, you may have a bad time with loadtimes, and ping, respectavely.

-addon downloads can take up to 2+ hours for new servers (fixable by options)
-loadtimes can take a while

Afternote: if you need specific objectives, I suggest you try another game, as this literally has none,
and the icon on the sale page, that's what happens when you play it in public... also you may want to invest in the +CS:S bundle so you don't have errors everywhere (literally a big slice of text saying: ERROR)
