This is what the newest SimCity should have been. It's so much more realistic, and if you play with the unlimited money enabled, the world is your oyster!

A great simulator with realistic physics, nice graphics and realistic sounds. One thing that could be improved is the outside sounds that are heard from the truck cabin, in that the doppler effect is set to a much lower pitch than what is actually heard when in an exterior view.

I remember this game when it was called "Rail Simulator" back in the days before buying games off steam became popular. I had played it and lost interest for a while as I wasn't sure if my computer would be able to handle future versions. In 2019 i ended up buy TS2017 and TS2018 and played it. I was pleasently surprised. More or less identical to the original Rail Simulator, but with more features. Actually, it's more like a sequel to Microsoft Train Simulator in that the controls are virtually identical. The graphics look ok (could be improved and optimised somewhat to look more modern), and some of the sounds could be improved as well (unless you're using Armstrong Powerhouse soundpacks).

Overall it's a pleasent game to play but some of the add ons are very expensive. (Hint: I never pay full price for DLC, I only buy when steam has a sale or through the weekly deals on the Dovetail games store).

So, if you have the time and patience for when the DLC drops in price, I say buy the game. If not, then don't.
