This game has been out forever, but every time I go back to it, I still find a way to have a blast with it. 10 out of 10.

If you like Sonic 2006, Sonic and the Black Knight, or Sonic Boom... Then this game is definitely not for you.

You see, this is a return to a bygone era where good sonic games were rampant, we didn't have to clench our butt holes every time Sega announced a new Sonic game. You heard a new Sonic game was coming out, it was going to blow your mind away, but some time after the 90's, something went wrong, they lost their way, they made Sonic '06...

Well, enough of that, we finally get a Sonic game true to form. Ludicrous speed, tons of powerups, a handful of characters, and so many levels to cut your teeth on. I do not have any regrets whatsoever from purchasing this game, it's absolutely amazing.

Early Access Review
This game is phenomenal and it's not even close to being 100% yet. One might assume that playing through the "same" 5 or 6 environments would get boring after awhile but when you're on your second run through and you have magma worms and lightning worms coming after you while dodging a hail of meteors while enemies are throwing fireballs at you and teleporting and taking swings at you while dodging lasers......... Just buy the game, you will not be disappointed

8/10
Pros: Tight controls, reminiscent of the original. Matter of fact, everything gives off a sense of the original or the GBA remake. The graphics have been noticeably improved upon and the game plays very smooth with little to no stuttering.

Cons: Honestly, the soundtrack feels ripped from the GBA version and then just had that tinny sound removed. Was kinda hoping for a bit more in this department since the music on the genesis could actually hold it's own against the two.

Verdict: If you don't care about the music then this is an instant pick up for any sh'mup fan, difficulty settings give this game nice replayability and will keep you coming back for more.

Easy to pick up, hard to master and it will destroy you if you don't adapt. Easily a 10 out of 10 from me, everything is spot on where it should be, the in game progression is smooth, there are so many variables that you can affect throughout the game and the controls are absolutely precise.

I normally wasn't a big fan of bullet hell sh'mups, but this was tide turning.
The gameplay in here gives you enough tools to get through, but doesn't hold your hand the whole way through like most games. The controls are crisp, you have a very clear hitbox and there are several game modes that tend to change the way you'll play the game.
The music is phenomenal though, I have the soundtrack and will rock out to it at any chance I get.
The game itself may be a bit short, but good luck beating it on anything after normal mode.

The only drawback, you can't max out your ship. There is a cap, but I hear there is a way around that, haven't looked to far into it.
