Need for Speed has embraced both its arcade street-racer roots and its long established pedigree of running from the cops in a sports car. Now the 4th game since the 2015 Frostbite engine revival, Unbound is unabashed eye candy. Neon lights, colored smoke clouds, and animated wings all adorn every second of your time scootin' around "Lakeshore".

The drift heavy driving style did not go anywhere so look elsewhere if you want a more realistic sort of racing, and be prepared for some of the most brutal cops that the series has ever seen. But along with the aggressive new Lakeshore PD come new tools to deal with them, along with some exciting new reasons to risk their attention. Your character has shouldered the duty of escorting street racers in distress, extracting them from the night and threading the needle of the cops' line of sight to get the racer back to their respective safehouses.

In addition to the new police gameplay elements, the day/night cash cycle from NFS Heat sees a return, (arguably the best new feature from that game), and the races themselves manifest in the form of hubs called "meetups" where you can challenge yourself and place bets on other racers. If you have enjoyed the current run of NFS games, Unbound should be both refreshing and familiar.

Great simulator, great racing, fantastic controls, spectacular graphics, lots of camera angles (including helmet cam), great replays, tons of awesome cars, realistic car damage, realistic driving (you can turn traction control off etc). The replay value is infinite, the career never ends. This game would be great for anyone interested in a really immersive yet simple racing sim, ESPECIALLY if you have a steering wheel.
