I felt disappointed the first time I played this on release and quit because of the itemization (lack of truly unique loot due to enchant-system and related mechanics) and (some of) the system mechanics. After slogging through most of the game I still think that both of these issues are detrimental, but despite that PoE is still an enjoyable experience if you take it slow (eg, reading mostly everything and not clicking through the game).

Plain old fun, both for solo and multiplay.

This tech demo is the primary indicator showing you that Valve's open story policy needs to end.

Still the best indie game out there.
