Honestly? For a company as small as Project Moon, they have left a massive impact on me that will likely stick with me for my entire life. Although the gameplay may not be suited for everyone, the story is unlike any others that I have heard, with the writing and how its told being better than how most triple A games tell theirs.

Artstyle? Fantastic. Music? Astounding, and draws you into the story. Characters? Some that you can hate, some that you can love, and some you can really emphasize for.

If you're into strategy based games that revolve around their story, I recommend that you buy this game.

10/10. Thank you for this masterpiece, Project Moon.

This is hands down one of the best games I have ever played PERIOD. The artstyle of the game is beautiful, the soundtrack is absolutely breathtaking, and every mechanic for combat is near seamless. Some of the NPCs that you can also meet are charming, unique, and also helpful (at times). At the same time, throughout my playthrough with the game I never encountered any gamebreaking bugs or glitches. There's even some very well hidden lore that you can find for yourself (I wouldn't want to spoil it for you).

However, this game also extremely difficult, and I don't recommend this game for people who are new to 2d platformers, as some of the sections of the game can leave you in frustration, whether it be excruciatingly dificult platforming or some of the boss fights that you have in the game.

Most of the game mechanics are the key aspects to a metroidvania, and I can respect that. There are also a few new twists to your playthroughs of the game, such as adding Charms, which can completely change how you play the game. Along with adding charms, there are also many sidequests that reward you with items to keep you going.

Then we get to the DLCs. Did I forget to mention that the DLCs are FREE? Sure, most of them are pretty short, but each one adds more secrets for you to discover, as well as adding awesome boss fights that will be sure to keep you on your toes. Some of the DLCs also add more sidequests for you to do, which adds to the experience and rewards you earn.

There are also multiple endings that you can get throughout your experience of Hollow Knight, some taking more skill than others. To top it all off, there are also multiple gamemodes in which you can unlock the more you play the game; BUT BE WARNED, the gamemodes that you unlock truly put your skills to the test.

Overall, I believe that Hollow Knight is one of the best games that any experienced player will ever play. If you know what you're getting yourself into, BUY THIS GAME. I highly reccomend it to anyone.

Yes, I met one of my closest friends on this game (I've known this person for about 8 years, and still ongoing.)

However.

This is one of the worst communities I have ever seen by a landslide, and it isn't even close. Due to it being a game that's free to play (and blew up during the pandemic,) kids swarmed to this game. Because of it, a lot of them still play this game, and they end up being susceptible to some of the most horrid people you could fathom. Not to mention, that this kind of disgusting behavior happens constantly in this game (and the group systems that VRC implemented, plus the age verification have barely done anything to help with this.)

That being said, I think I can only make up for one saving grace that this game has: The artists (That being SOME avatar creators, and some map creators.) Within the disgusting amount of time that I've put into this game (and no, I'm not proud of it, and yet It'll keep ticking higher,) I've seen some beautiful creations, my personal favorite being a series of worlds from DrMorro. Another notable mention would be Beyond's "Terrors of Nowhere," and "Bus to Nowhere" series (With me having playtested Bus to Nowhere.) If you keep sifting through the dumpsterfire that is this game, you can find things that people have put blood, sweat and tears into.

If you do want to end up exploring this game with a couple of friends, here's what you should do in order to have the safest experience possible (As someone who does this regularly.)

1. Stick to people that you know, and avoid public lobbies like the plague. Keep it to friends + or friends only; or, invite +. This is to mainly prevent weirdos from coming in.

That's it.

As for if you want to actually see what the people in this game is like, there are various youtubers that can delve into the topic better than I can. But if you want the answer from me, here it is with the most sincerity that I can give.

If you plan to go to public lobbies, I can only give you this. get a therapist in advance.

I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to have a good time, a competitive introduction to multiplayer shooters and a collector of expensive virtual items. I'd just like to point out that even though some things are very unbalanced in this game, there are stil exceptions to what you can do in this game. overall, it's one of the best games i've played in a while.
