Love this game, made a gorilla squad with a few friends and went to town on the gummy bear tug of war. would like a few more animals added as options like a Penguin but still able to have a good laugh in it's current state.

Played less than 2 hours, and my honest thoughts are if you've already got Phasmophobia don't buy this as it's an almost direct rip of the game. The main pull of this game was the idea of exorcising the ghosts but the ability to do that is locked behind player levels. and is so unclear that it's mostly guesswork. Reading through the Journal you can quickly figure out that English isn't the dev's first language. and a lot of the content seen in the screen shots isn't fully in the game yet. There is no tutorial so everything is just guessing and hoping your right. I'll possibly come back and give it another try in a few years but right now save your money.

I loved this game when it was originally released back in the early 2000's and had been waiting for a remaster or continuation. Can say with certainty I wasn't disappointed this still scratches my RTS itch even now. hopefully they'll be adding more content over time but even now this is easily worth £7.

So I've been playing this game since day one, I've not reached Max cap yet but at this point i'm starting to get very bored already. The mobs are Identical in every area so exploring isn't a very exciting prospect. The Issues with server load have finally been resolved but that may just be because over 200k players have quit the game at this point. Server transfers still arent active as of this posting. And the downtime for server maintence is a joke as it's only ever done during EU prime time never US and takes between 6 - 11 hours to complete resulting in a full day lost for most EU players. A lot of tweeks are needed to a lot of the systems i.e. Crafting EXP gain, Materials usage, Drop rarety. And also be ready for the BOT's which have been active since day one. so my advice at this point if you really need something to scratch your MMO itch and want to try this wait another 6 months for them to sort out some of the more glaring issues.

Lot's of grind, poor balancing at times and don't even get me started about the servers. even with all those flaws I'd still recommend this game as it stands alone there is nothing else like this, People try to compare to world of tanks but that doesnt match up as you can have airsupport in warthunder but loose the player controlled artillery. also the armour physics is far more complex in warthunder (doesnt mean there isnt some RNG).

Great game and optimisation has helped it run smoother on older system, One of the things I will advise is that players look at some of the Mods. I've likely played more than the logged time due to playing the darkness falls mod and the system not logging my progress on it.

Got stuck 5 times by a firework crossbow and turned into an unwilling Iron-man and flew out of bounds... 10/10 would Blast off like team rocket again.

Even for an early access game there is a lot of content, upon writing this I've got 163 hrs logged on the game and have only just run out of content on my first play through. I could easily get another 300+ hrs just from the 3 other available maps. Looking forward to the content added with future updates.

So this is my 3rd Review of this game now, and honestly my opinion hasn't really changed much since. Granted I did take roughly 2 years off from this game as a lack of new content had caused it to become stale.

Pros:
Stunning Graphics (especially since the new rework of 4.0 and Odyssey)
Great soundtrack
Plenty to work toward when starting out
Great and creative community

Cons:
Very slow updates
Ships are very much copy paste, with not as many options as some other space sims
Bugs (They've improved but still some game breakers in there)

Now since the last review I did they've released a new DLC called Odyssey, or as I refer to it "Space legs".
The DLC is priced at £40 however when I bought it, it was on sale for around £16. After putting in roughly 100 hrs with this new DLC I can easily say it's not worth the £40 price tag. And I'm glad that I waited for a sale.

Yes the interior of the station is very pretty (the first time), however they are all identical in layout and appearance. Yes seeing your ship from the outside and getting a better idea of scale is amazing but again that wears off very quickly. The new biologicals that can be found on planets aren't all that interesting and in some cases just become frustrating (I'm looking at you bacteria pools on ice moons). The new FPS style combat that's been added it nothing but chaotic as you are just dumped in with whatever guns you have and have to figure out the rest yourself. It's nothing like "Tutorial" you do when you first start the DLC, the closest thing to that is some of the Illegal jobs that have been added.

And lastly we still haven't had any new ships added since the Mamba back in 2018, As a veteran player I'm now at a point where I've got more credits than I know what to do with. And have been hoping and praying for something to be added that would 1: help drain my balance a bit and 2: be new and interesting. I originally hoped that would have been the carriers but they turned out to just be fixed personal stations and couldn't be piloted. Which instantly caused me to lose interest.

So with that said would I recommend this game... My honest answer is at this time unless you've already been playing for a few hundred hours or are just looking for a casual Space sim to put a few hours into here and there No I wouldn't recommend it. There is so much that could be done with this game but the Dev's just don't seem to be interested in putting the work in and would rather focus on releasing a podcast about what players have done in game.
