Early Access Review
Asked Karen if she wanted to speak with my manager. Friends found my corpse twerking in the basement.

10/10 would poke the Karen again.

I've played the game since i was nine years old and long before it was ever on Steam. Start with Ruins of Kunark and stopped playing everquest as my main MMO with House of Thule.

The memories i have with this game are far, far, far to numerous to count. I am so glad to still be able to play this game. It still withstands the test of time.

Give it a shot. I can almost promise you wont regret it.

Honestly whats to say that hasn't already been said. Darkest Dungeon is, without a doubt, a masterpiece of writing. I'd buy it for everyone on steam if I had the money along with all of the DLC. The game is phenominal gameplay wise and has some of the best DLC I've ever played.

The story is engaging and as you play the game you feel connected to the characters are you level them and losing a max level character to starvation or an unlucky critical hit feels like such a massive blow because of the time and effort that goes into leveling each of your heroes.

Crimson Court adds a bunch of new mechanics that don't feel overly punishing in balancing your cursed heroes as well as a new set of bosses that are properly challenging and not pushovers even if you were max level. Color of Madness adds even more with an endless system that removes the threat of losing a hero to death, which is lovely to be honest and Butcher's Circus takes that even further!

All in all this game honestly feels like a must play. The voice acting is great for the narrator and the story is well written. Nothing seems to drastically overpowered to play against.

Darkwood does a masterful job of building up suspense and dread. I'm not one to really get scared over games anymore, but Darkwood is one of the few games I am hesitant to play because of how well it builds up to the moment when things just scare the living crap out of you.

So far I'm only in the first biome, but I hope to play it more (during the day mind you) and get a better feel of the game. It also tells you flat out the game is difficult and won't hold your hand....and it's not kidding. Even the prologue was kinda rough.

Overall its a good game and I recommend it for any fans of horror, I'm hesitant to add cosmic horror though but something does definetly feel like it should be added there.

Respect the woods.

I binged the entire game in one sitting and now have plans to 100% it.

It's alright.

I got the game as a gift from a friend, something for us to play together. Sadly that never panned out because my computer wont connect to his server.

ANYWAY!

The game is absolutely *phenominal* and after getting over the learning curve, I absolutely fell in love with it and I wish I had got the game sooner. I could not recommend this game enough. Going in blind knowing nothing beyond what my friend told me to look out for was a blast.

When a friend recommended Risk of Rain to me, I didn't expect to be so utterly addicted to it. Still haven't beat the game but I've come close on multiple occassions. When I heard RoR2 was announced, it was an automatic buy in my book.

The game is fun and the randomness of each run gives it a lot of replayability. Game gets progressively harder the longer you play a run, and you can expect each run to take ~30 minutes.

EDIT: Now that the game is fully released I can safely say the game is a must have. The difficulty is there but the game more than gives you the tools to overcome and surpass the difficulty. You can, at one point, become a near unkillable god shredding through bosses with ease while they can barely damage you.

The games difficulty goes up the longer you play, with enemies dealing more damage and having larger health pools and champion version spawning more frequently. Each run can last a minimum of 30 minutes with some going as long as three or four hours depending on how methodically you scour the map for items. Two challenge modes keep things interesting and some of the items used have drawbacks, such as a crown that gives you gold when you hit an enemy but causes you to lose gold when you are hit by an enemy.

All in all I'd say the game is a solid must have, and whether you buy it on sale or for full price; you will absolutely be getting your moneys worth and then some.

I am not normally a sloot for graphics, but this game was absolutely phenominal with the level of detail. Aside from that I did like being able to board up windows to slow down or even stop zombies from spawning during the RPD, was a pleasant surprise.

Pirated the game at first, ended up loving it. 10/10 would pirate and then buy again.

The game is pretty good. I couldn't recommend it enough, though I have do have a few issues. Namely the early missions.

Ghouls are the second real threat you can come across in the game, but depending on your starting class they can either be super difficult or surprisingly easy; I'd recommend bringing them in line with something you would face early on rather than something that feels more like a late game enemy as it makes doing sweep missions early on particularly stressful with how hard they hit in comparison to how hard you can hit.
