I might be biased as I played this game a lot growing up. I was a big fan of Age of Empires II, so having a Star Wars version was amazing, being able to create scenarios including my favourite factions and characters kept me hooked.

I think that is the main appeal and if you are not interested in creating your own maps or scenarios, or are looking for a compelling campaign or variant of the Age of Empires formula, you'll be disappointed. However, for me, it has done its job very well over the years.
