Early Access Review
Good game sharing the survival elements of Rust, an artstyle of Subnautica and an MMO leveling feeling.
The game features multiple professions that you can get, each with their own independent levels, passive abilities and active abilities that will be usable regardless of your active profession once unlocked.

It helps new players due to a newbie protection and because the player disappears from the game at logout, meaning that in the early levels you can easily save your progress. However, you will quickly get too many resources to carry and the risk of dying which means you'll lose a large percentage of your gathered resources means you will have to settle down and the further you progress, the less resources you can save by logging out with them in your inventory.

Most of the PvP is based on gaining resources, people go in groups to kill other players as almost everyone has a lot of resources on them.

If you seek a Multiplayer Sci-fi PvP Survival game, this is a game I'd recommend.

This game is a well developed asymmetric RTS game, featuring 3 vastly different factions.

The humans are network based, all the constructs are linked and the game-play is heavily advantagous for those who prefer the turtle approach thanks to the turrets and the compact design their playstyle promotes. They are also the only faction capable of teleporting 6 units at once to any spot on the map where you have visibility allowing you to quickly reinforce troops if needed. Their elite unit sends a laser beem straight forward in a line, damaging any enemy ground unit (imho. this is the weakest elite unit, but they have air-superiority anyways thanks to their airplanes and how small their storages for the airplanes are).

On the completely opposite side this this is the Goo, the playstyle of the goo focuses on aggressive hit-and-run tactics, their elite unit can cause serious havoc and is also able to climb any obstacle and destroy enemy buildings and units by simply being around them. They are very strong if coming in a pack and when lacking form they can devour an entire base by simply being there. That said, their forms (units) do have a lot of advantages such as range, ability to target airplanes and pure damage.
The goo has no structures, they are a fluid faction in every meaning of the word.

The Beta are most normal of the factions, specifically said by the Devs to be intentionally so for new players to get used to the game, but they are still very strong and definitively a force to be reckoned with. Their elite unit is a walking production facility that sends out miniature nuclear bombs and is able to attack any close-range enemies by having units mounted ontop of it. This is one of the big strengths of the Beta, some of your units can mount walls and the elite unit, allowing you to create a strong permimiter that is very hard to break through.
If you then decide to go on the offensive, the elite unit will help you take down most resistance, having what is probably the strongest of the elite units in the game.

As for the campaign, it is very well made, although, it is a bit short, allowing you to get used to each of the factions while also deliviring a great story that they have confirmed will be expanded.
Note: It will come through DLC.

Now, on a more negative note, while humans are strong, they often feel unflexible as you might not be able to expand anywhere due to it not always going so well building uphil and some areas are just blocked off for building. For the Beta, that just means you place it somewhere else, for humans, it means stop.

Also, the game, at least so far, allows for only up to 4 players, meaning you can't even have a 3v3 with one of each faction on each side.

Content promised that wasn't given such as the ability to coop as presented here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJj9GmuNaew (which to me at least was about 20% of the fun as I wanted to help buddies out while sitting in a lecture).
Missions aren't what you see in the trailers, far from in fact.
The story is short, can with ease complete it within a day.
The most fun you will likely have is hacking into other peoples' games and running over them with cars. That kinda gets old fast tho.
To rub salt into the wound, it is hard to enter the game due to uPlay and even if you do enter it will have trouble connecting you to other people.
Single-player wise, the most fun I've had was criminal convoys - you intercept a few cars and then either escape or kill thm all and that was that.
Stopping crimes is simplistic, you can basically sit in a car then run over the criminal with no issue and almost get the same reward. Even if you go on foot there is little problem catching them.
You can't use weapons while driving either and sometimes will go far without being able to hack something to stop the police or someone you are chasing.
Did I mention that the ctOS hacks glitch? Jam communication doesn't always work for example and sometimes things won't do what you tell them to or they revert to the state they were in before (closing half-way and then opening again). Which gets a lot worse online.
The grabbing and the covering mechanic isn't impressive. Can't even count the times I've died because it didn't grab onto something or cover behind something. Especially annoying is it when he can't walk over stuff that are like 0.75 meters, but can walk over things 0.5 or 1 meters easily. My favorite of these issues is when he won't perform a takedown and you end up getting your face blown off or when he just won't go into cover and you get shot to death because of it.
Tho at least they have some amusing music.

Tho through all of this it is still a fun experience, just not a 60€ experience in my opinion.

MMO, FPS, Free to Play with subscription option. Huge maps (continents) with end-less war between 3 factions with 3 different play-styles. Also has a large and active community.
Vanu are the most agile and have weapons with 0 bulletdrop tho relatively long reload times for weapons.
NC have a focus on dealing damage tho are slow and have the longest reload times.
TR have a focus on fast fire rate, the Mosquito has a high speed and they have large magazines, but deal the least damage per bullet and the faction specific aircraft isn't that manuverable.

Beyond this, if you are into the whole role-play kinda thing then the Vanu are the scientists who took up arms, the NC are the "freedom fighters" and the TR is the oppressive government that the Vanu and NC broke out of. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlanetSide#Plot

It's at least worth a try to see if it is something you'd be interested in.
