Basically relaxation the game, you'd have to be utterly dead inside not to be charmed like this.

I have played Destiny almost daily since 2014, I've been through the highs and I've been through the lows. You'll know very quickly if the game is for you, there is a cathartic quality to its gameplay that few games can ever capture. You may hate the game, you may hate the loot cycle, the endgame, the servers, the hit reg, the MTX model, the content droughts, the lack of new enemy types, the meta, anything and everything, but there is a magic that keeps you coming back. Pretty soon you'll realize that maybe you don't hate things, the real reason the issues the game has bother you so much is that this game is so close to perfection, so close to the raw essence of everything an MMO FPS could be, that where it falters it draws a deeply passionate response from you. Destiny is by no means perfect, but with nearly 500 games in my Steam library alone, I still have no other game I can put on its level. Let yourself fall into it and it will be damn near lifechanging. Embrace the lore, visit the LFG sites and Discords, meet people, do the raids. This game is special, the connections you make in it will lead to real friendships, I'm going to be a groomsman in a friends wedding in a couple months, and I never would have known him if not for this game.

Ask me earlier this year and I would have slammed this game in a review. It ran terribly, was full of blatent hackers and suffered from the worst hit detection have ever seen in an online FPS.

But that was earlier this year.

Since then there have been astoundingly huge improvements in the game. I play scores of games in a given week, and the presence of hackers has plummeted. Sure, they still show up, but the amounts are actually tolerable. I can't expect Bluehole to catch them all instantly, but they are doing an admirable job right now. While I can't entirely attest to the performance improvements, I've got a fairly beefy rig (the proper technical term) that doesn't really struggle with the game, I've still seen my frames jump by a couple dozen as of late, so whatever they're doing on optimization seems to be working. While hit detection is still occasionally an issue, it has been largely repaired to the best of my observation recently.

Is the game perfect? Hell no. But the trend I've seen in Bluehole's efforts lately has at last inspired me to actually leave a review of the game. They're there, they're working on it, and I for the first time have full faith that they'll bring this game into its full potential.

As of writing this I have 148 hours in a game with 6 levels. Needless to say I love this game. The music is perfect, the platforming is smooth and the game is classically difficult in parts. The hardcore levels in particular are an old school style of die and you're back at the menu that most developers don't have the guts to make these days, I for one appreciate that and it has kept me playing. I have such a ludicrous amount of hours largely because it is one of very few games that run on my Surface 3 when I'm out or travelling, but honestly I don't need more than just this game, sure I've memorized every jump, movement and timing by this point but I simply enjoy playing it.

Let me get something out up front, I am a massive Transformers fan; I've seen every TV show, I've read every book and I have e-copies of every comic (which admittidly I never made it too far into). On top of all that I tend to be extremely critical. My criteria may be harsh but Fall of Cybertron is excellent. The game is a refreshing twist on the shooter genre as a whole, with the ability to switch weapon arms to shoot around cover, and the flawlessly integrated transformation mechanics. Vehicle alt-modes are surprisingly varied and, unlike most Transformer (and almost all other mech/robotic) games break from the mold of tanks, scouts and planes with only slightly different textures to distinguish them. I will say however that this is slightly damaged in the multiplayer due to an unfortunate, but probably unavoidable class system. Fortunately the game has an excellent character creation system that allows you to at least look unique. In terms of the campaign the game has been fantastic. The references and glimpses of past series and stories are plentiful, but have been worked in in such a ways that players new to the universe could have an hugely enjoyable experience without understanding them one bit. Then we get to perhaps my biggest praise: the characters. The characters in Fall of Cybertron are outstanding, the voice acting is fantastic and creates personas for essential characters and grunt soldiers a like. This is most true in the case of the Autobots; I genuinely felt a tinge of regret in the Decepticon missions killing Autobot soldiers. Their cheerful but nervous banter and yelled conversations made them seem like actual beings, I remember playing as Megatron and hearing one Autobot yell out "He can fly now?!?! That is not ok, THAT IS NOT OK!!!" as he retreated, the moment has so perfect and I can remember laughing and actually trying to keep this one enemy soldier alive. Overall it is a wonderful game that I would highly recomend, if I were to score it out of 10 (which I hate doing) I would give it a solid 9/10 (something I don't do lightly). My only real criticism is that the multiplayer hasn't retained an audience and tends to be quite empty, usually pitting newer players agianst much higher skill veterens.
