This game is an absolute hidden gem. Its challenging but fair with a moderate learning curve that any determined person can actually become a god at. It is just so satisfying, blowing up traitorous scum in your ship or with the assist of your Ai comrades.
Controls are smooth, maybe a little sluggish but overall smooth and just one of those things you get used to as you continue to play.
The addition of the lite-rts elements is actually good and gives each level an added depth. The levels themselves are also quite varied, in terms of enemy ship types, asteroids and other stuff. If anything i wish it was a little longer, or that the developers would make a sequel because its just the right mixture of pick up and play plus proper challenges that hits the right spot.

Id suggest waiting at for a sale of 20% or more since its a fairly short game, unless you are the kind of person who spends hours on the shortest games.

Easy to play, hard to master. Controller is a viable option although If possible, wheel is probably 100 times better experience

This is the best one in the trilogy, in terms of almost everything. it runs smoothly it has good writitng, good voice acting, a little bit disjointed story, but most importantly: great gameplay. Everything just flows, the great array of weapons to choose from to obliterate everything and everyone is just tons of fun to play around with. I have windows 10 and I AM able to play it, only catch is no antialiasing, but who really needs that for a game of this age, eh?

The trilogy is a must have, and you are gonna love this one

Ubisofts Beijings failed attempt at remastering made a once good ps2 a next gen piece of ♥♥♥♥. Their potential will forever be lost due to the countless bugs, crashes and other bullshittery. You have a better chance buying a copie for the ps2 than trying to fix this game.

-Decent visuals (even for my underpowered machine)
Cons
-OP Bolt action rifles: Springfield and kar98
-Battles that can end the moment you finally enter the game
-The Axis is OP in almost everyway
-Creating another class/soldier/slot creats a completely new rank and level instead of carrying the level.
- Weapons cost alot of silver and I'm not paying 5-10 bucks to pay for an already free game.
- awkwerd hitboxes (not always bad but not perfect)
-Pay 2 win stratigy (did I spell it wrong) lower level players with a level five tankman

Listen, I understand its greenlight and now its free and all but there is still needed improvement to this shiny turd.
so far I would recommend since its worth a try, just dont expect to much.

I finally completed it. I've picked it up three times, each time stopping just before the final chapter.

I've gone through high school, college, university, two break ups and a whole slew of other things. Yet in each new chapter of my life I always came back to this game to play before inevitably stopping again.

This time I've done it, beginning to end, and it both was and wasn't how I expected to end. No fan service or anything like, a quiet end. Like reaching the end of a book, you turn the final page and that's it: the end.

For obvious reasons this last time I really appreciated everything, with renewed eyes and I'll miss coming back to it.

Really this game isn't for everyone, its slow, dense and archaic, but it also is so full of character; its a one of one experience, and I regret nothing.

If you're a nostalgic soul, like I am, give this game a try, get lost in its sounds, images and questions on life, longing, responsibility, home... Its one I'll genuinely never forget.
