Stop looking at reviews and buy this game. Good skill based combat, fast paced, good story, awesome retro feel. Amazing game 9/10.

First of all, I love this game. I have played it for about four years, and have stuck with it through thick and thin. That doesn't mean that I don't think this game doesn't have problems, but if I didn't think it wasn't fun, I woudn't still play it.

Back to business. The biggest problem people are claiming is the horrible matchmaking, and that's true. I constantly get horrid teammates who don't know what they're doing while the other team is stacked. If I want a good game, I have to play with my friends. However, if all of the people who love this game leave because the matchmaking system is bad, then the matches that the game creates for people are worse. The less players that are on at one time, the less accurate in skill group the game will get, and you'll get League 3 people against League 5. If people stick with the devs a little bit longer, the game has a better chance of improving.

Next, people are complaining about the game going free to play. They just bought the game, when they could've gotten it for free later. If people looked at all the information first, the would see that the game devs aren't ripping people off. If you own the base game before it becomes free to play, you get every single character free (excluding DLC). If you have the base game and one DLC then you get those characters forever aswell. Even better, if you own both DLC and the base game, then you not only get every character free, but every character to come for free. Otherwise you'll have to earn points from playing games and unlock characters one by one, as the free to play players will have to do.

Also, people are complaining that Ronimo is taking away the offline playing and split screen features, which isn't true. They said you have to have internet to start the game, the you can play offline. I along with a lot of other people, think that allowing for a completely offline feature is a better option, and Ronimo heard the community. They announced that you can play offline by pressing the Play Awesomenauts Beta option, and are working on a more permanent solution in the next couple weeks.

I feel that Ronimo is taking the right step in making it free to play. As I was talking about the matchmaking system, making the game free will allow people to try the game out. They don't have to look at the reviews and see negative comments about the matchmaking system, because it's free, all they have to do is uninstall and there is no harm done. Having free to play players will massively improve the matchmaking system, and if you give it 3-6 months, we'll have the upper Leagues back to the good old days with 40 minute long matches of push after push :)

I think that Ronimo is adding too many new characters too fast, however Ronimo is working hard to improve the characters and give nerfs when it is necessary.

I can see what Ronimo is pushing for in this update and I agree and think this was the right step for Awesomenauts, and if they pull it off, then Awesomenauts will be back to normal with balanced and fun matches even if you are solo queueing. However, they will only pull this update off with the support of everyone who plays, and has played Awesomenauts. If you have given up on this game, then please, give it another chance after the update.

All of that aside, I love this game. It is fast paced, fun, and with the right players, you can have an amazing 20 minutes, even if you are losing. Whether you have played this game before, or are new to the game thinking of getting it, free or not, then give it a shot.
