This game has to be one of my favorites I played so far in 2020. Everything from the music, the graphics, the mechanics, to the fact that I want to bang my head against a wall when I die brings me back to when the SNES and Genesis days. This is the type of game I grew up playing and it really took me back to my childhood. Every single moment of what I played of the first 3 stages seemed to be paced really well. The game so far doesn't have a slow point or a point where I feel like I am overwhelmed, every death is a teaching moment and next time you run that part of the stage you have already learned what to do different.

Like most games from the time period that this game emulates, you get power-ups for your weapons as well as health. This become valuable commodities. Use them well and use them carefully, they will save your life and make things easier for you. If you like old school horror platformers, then definitely give this game a try.

Pros:
Scratches that Nostalgia itch nicely
Fantastic music
Great sprite and graphics
Interesting story
Challenging and fun mechanics

Cons:
Controls do feel a little stiff (as they were back then)
Can be difficult for people not used to this genre of game (keep at it, I promise it will be worth it)

To the Developers:
Thank you for this, it is a great game with a lot to offer. I don't really have too much to complain about because after 20+ years muscle memory just kicks in and it's like falling off of a corpse cart. I look forward to see how you can improve this game without taking the difficulty factor away. I understand you want to make as accessible as possible but if you have to make an extra difficulty and just move normal to hard, hard to (insert 1 step beyond hard here) then I am totally behind you all doing that. I look forward what you have to give us in the future and will keep playing and recommending this to people I think will enjoy it.

While this game has it's buggy points, It is absolutely a blast to play with friends. The clunkiness of it makes for hilarious moments and a very unique charm. If you want a good time with friends for maybe an hour or 2 every once and awhile, then this is the game for you.
