Early Access Review
As someone who doesn't usually play VNs, I found Scarlet Hollow to be an absolutely fantastic experience. Tons of branching paths and a healthy mix of humor and horror as you try to uncover various mysteries in this seemingly cursed town.

My favorite thing about it is how your choices actually matter, and your actions (or inaction, lol) will swing the story in very different directions. One playthrough (heck, even two) isn't enough to unravel every little secret, but it's really hard to talk about any of it without spoiling anything.

Edit: Y'all they cooked so hard with episode 5, now I can't wait for the finale aaaaaaaaaaaa

EDIT (1/31/26): They released a 5v5 game mode and it actually works so well to fix some of my issues with it, wow

In its current state, it's enjoyable but not exactly the most exciting FPS out there because of the "intercept phase", aka the looting phase. The game's free and barely takes up any space, so there's really no harm trying it out and seeing if it's for you.

The team and map sizes feel fine, especially with upgraded saddles and whatever those speed boosting gates are called.

It's just that there's nothing encouraging both teams to fight each other before the shieldbreaker spawns. The air drops do this sometimes, but more often than not, people ignore them. I've had a match where two air drops were on top of one another, completely untouched until the end when I noticed them lmao.

The guns, albeit a bit generic in their types at the moment, actually feel really satisfying to use (except the burst ones, they're not for me), and the warden abilities are incredibly impactful. Solo queue is a mixed bag where quick stomps happen one way or another, but when you get matches where both teams are somewhat competent and working together, the game really starts to click.

I just think the looting portion drags on for a little longer than it should, and cutting down maybe a minute from the wait time before the shieldbreaker spawns or starts spawning would make it feel smoother.

Either that, or add some neutral NPCs alongside the vesper crystals and barrels as alternative sources of loot/money, just so it at least feels a bit more engaging in the pre-raid parts. The actual raiding portion is extremely fun, though walls need a bit of buffing atm because a single purple rocket launcher rips through them like nothing.

Not all that great right now, but far from being godawful as the internet would have you believe. Completely fixable issues, that is if the devs are willing to stick it out despite the overly (and tbh mostly unfounded) negative initial reception. Leaving this as a thumbs up but leaning more towards the middle, because there's no neutral choice on Steam lol.

Really hits that Telltale itch that I've had for a while now, and I hope they make a season 2 at some point!

Tried it for a bit and loved what I've experienced so far. Looking forward to the full game!

I only have a few issues based on what I've experienced in the demo, but nothing major.

They just stopped selling the game in countries that don't support PSN, mine included.

Shame.

Edit: Sony has reversed their decision, but I won't be changing this review until the game has been re-listed for countries that got region locked.

Been playing this both on Steam and mobile for a long time now, since the closed beta, pretty much.

It's a fun 3-minute card game, and while I do recommend it due to how fun it is and how practically anyone can reach the top ranks (I've been in infinite for a few seasons in a row now just playing casually), the card acquisition system needs a bit more work.

New players will have a hard time keeping up with the shiny new stuff being released, though this doesn't necessarily ruin the gameplay experience as matchmaking does take collection levels into account... as far as I know anyway.

Just finished the game and I feel empty inside. Time to start playthrough #2 I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Smooth combat and an overall enjoying experience, but it is severely lacking in content at the moment (yes, I'm aware that it only has chapter 1 so far, but I wasn't expecting it to be that short) that I have no idea what else to say about it.

Beat the first boss in my 2nd run and it just kinda ended. Still recommending it because it seems pretty polished and competent, but do wait for future updates if you're easily turned off by the lack of content in early access.

Will revisit this game once it's more complete.

Expected a chill roguelite card game, got a game that made me relive my days of playing StarCraft

Pretty good
