Sometimes targeting gets confusing, but otherwise faithful

I played this game a while back and have been looking to play it again (but one of my discs had cracked while playing). The steam version seems to be better configured to run on modern systems than the Gog version (have tried both - gog was unplayable).

The gameplay blends FPS and third person adventure mechanics to investigate a mystery in a cyberpunk setting (the switching back and forth gameplay was pretty innovative for the era - 1999). In addition the ability to switch your character (the you that you're playing as) between various characters (of different genders and races) in the setting provides an intersting way to explore those identities within the culture. But you still play as you regardless of the shell you're... inhabiting?

Also... New Angels of Promise (by David Bowie) is the theme song and it's awesome.

I originally played a demo copy of Gravity Ghost at the 'For All Gamers Sake' exhibition at Capital Pride 2012 in Ottawa and remember wanting to play more of it. The mechanics were quite solid. So glad I can now play it again. It has a very compelling story, but doesn't rush you through the game -- allowing you to appreciate it at your own pace. The movement puzzles may seem simple at first, but can be trickier than you think.

It would be nice if you could interact with the spirit animals at the black hole (e.g. giving them a hug or saying hi before replaying cutscenes), but that would be gravy -- it's still a very solid game.

It's a fun Knolling simulator. If you're into knolling, it's worth it.
