Armored Core 6 is a 9.5/10 stellar game.

- Combat is wildly fluid, extremely quick, and very expressive. There are no i-frames on the dodge, and after getting used to that, I don't know how I'll be able to go back to i-frame based systems. There is just something so organic and non-game-y about your dodges being actual dodges. Like you have to space yourself and manage your speed and quick boosts to actually dodge things. It feels so much deeper and so much more rewarding than just timing your i-frames to overlap with the attack.

- The game can be very challenging, but the mech customization part of the game gives you a lot of wiggle room to raise and lower the challenge as you see fit. This game is going to print funbucks for people who enjoy challenge runs. No back weapons, only back weapons, missile only, melee only, shotgun only, sniper only, fist only, etc. On the other end of that, some of the most effective loadouts border on being too effective. It's good to have strong loadouts to help players who aren't keeping up with the mechanical challenge of this game, but If what you're doing is so good you're getting bored, it's time to put on the big gamer pants and take an active role in your own enjoyment as a co-author of this interactive experience.

- The hyper-melodramatic ace pilot radio chatter is excellent. If you've ever played Project Wingman or Ace Combat, you know what this is. Just a plethora of deeply campy blowhards with delusions of grandeur on every radio frequency, clogging up the airwaves. One thing that I think this game really does great is combining this radio snippet approach with some Fromsoft lore-by-excavation. There are so many little details you'll pick up in the radio chatter. Foreshadowing, details on what happens off-screen, etc. If you're willing to pay attention and keep track of all the things you overhear, there is a lot to put together. The lore snippets you can pick up in the environment also do a great job of this.

- If you pick this up, you'll get a lot more story on repeat playthroughs. New Game + ( and ++ !!!! ) have a lot more to add, with new missions, new mixups, and more parts to try out.

621/10 game.

Early Access Review
If you're someone who can play games for fun, this is probably the best game. If you're some sort of skinner box FOMO rat, this game is excellent detox. 10/10 made me a believer. Fun is real, the light isn't gone. Gaming is saved.

Ahem.

Some remasters add 1080p and call it a day, but this product goes above and beyond the call of duty, improving combat and addressing various issues that the PS3 crowd suffered through during the time they spent beta testing the game for it's eventual full release on PC, today.

People whining about frame limit stuff are just jealous that they don't have the fine motor skills and reaction times to play this ludonarrative tour-de-force.

People whining about ultra-wide monitor support don't understand that their gimmick monitor aspect ratio isn't a substitute for a personality.

People whining about the title (ver.1.22474487139...) out themselves as uncultured shut-ins completely out of the loop for pop culture references as straightforward as this. I happily discard their opinions like I discard the full preorder price of this game ($59.99 USD, before taxes). The time has come to once again board Yoko Taro's wild ride. It's been an honor.

Music: 11/10
Game: 10/10
Store Page: 9/10
Frame Rate: 60/60 (human eyes cant tell the difference after 15 fps anyways)
Recommendation: Earned
