Purely for single player, leaving a negative review to protest because this clearly should've been Chronicles. You can click the tab in the campaign menu and it takes you to a... Chronicles-like menu to browse the 3 new campaigns.

I have no opinion on the balance and 3K being ranked civs, but just from a single-player point of view, I do not understand the push to make this seem like it's part of the "main" game. Simply adding a tab would alleviate the biggest gripe I have with the presentation.

Other than that, it's a DLC with 5 civs and 3 campaigns. Decent in terms of content, definitely tainted by the poorer presentation. Someone somewhere made a weird push to not make this Chronicles that I do not understand.

For this hero, I think it's enough to add some basic stats. There's no need to add a skill as it's really out of place. Also, the hero is too overpowered. The campaign has no difficulty at all. The map design is too perfunctory. I suggest that the planners come to China for on-site investigation. The terrain in China mainly consists of hills and mountains, but the campaign maps you made are mostly flat. It feels very fake when playing, you know? The terrain in China is not mostly plains like in Europe. China has a complex and diverse terrain.
I still hope that the planners will release more DLCs related to China. But I hope that the planners will put in more effort. The maps related to China are designed too casually, and the number of troops and the buildings in the campaign are really bad. Keep up the good work, Microsoft. There's still a long way to go.

I think it would be acceptable if you took the Great Wall of China as a reference for the city walls. The barracks and buildings in this game seem out of place in the context of the Three Kingdoms. Although you have created some new units, it still feels very odd. The map you made is really not right. It's too casual. It should be designed by Chinese people. Anyway, it's really bad. And I think the image of the peasants should be modified. The peasants in your game have a very strong European pastoral style. It's really hard to tell that they are supposed to be Asian. They look more like Western Europeans. In ancient China, both men and women usually had long hair. But in your game, both male and female peasants generally have short hair. In ancient China, people's hair was from their parents and couldn't be trimmed casually.

I feel that the battlefield of the Three Kingdoms period should be grand. But here, it feels more like a scuffle among small European tribes. The map design is really poor. It gives the impression of being very perfunctory. Moreover, the appearance of European warriors in the Three Kingdoms era is really discordant. Also, the city walls here simply don't conform to the style of Chinese architecture.

Agree this 3K better suits the Chronicle series. Let me guess, the point is that these two DLCs are developed by different studios (3K by Forgotten Empires taking part with the vanilla AoE2DE; Chonicles by a brand-new one doing their own work) and it's not easy to put one's child to another family.
