i love the simple aesthetics of the dungeon crawling. incredible focus on the play, with tons of options for party building, and a lot of mechanics to fiddle with.

probably would help if you are into touhou, but not a prerequisite. just pure gameplay fun.

with that said, extremely hard game. boss fights are somewhat puzzle-ish. nothing insurmountable, but you will need to fiddle about to achieve victory. the game will not hand it on a silver platter.

the gameplay is fine but the incessant chatter got on my nerves. really really really bad. still leaving it as a recommend but i wish i could leave it as a "eh". the game is good i just wish it could get to breath, there was as much yapping as there was gameplay in the first zone. i get that there's a story (using that word loosely here) but damn.

extremely charming, fantastic movement, great characters.

price is a bit steep for most people but i think it is worth playing no matter the price. strong recommend.

the game is beautiful, has some neat ideas, but i don't think it's very enjoyable to play

for starters, for a deck builder, there's no way to *trim* your deck, which is pretty essential in this genre. i also like the idea of exploring the map but it feels tedious to do. there is a reason why most games just copy the path picking idea, so the focus can be on the actual battling and deck building.

the progression also doesn't feel great, the tree feels like it needs to exist just because it needs to.

i think it's fine as part of a bundle you can find on various websites heavily discounted, would not buy it at full price

the game starts dropping these fragment things from the moment you start the game. it takes you getting to the 3rd act to finally use them.

i feel like that speaks for the general design of this game. i do not think it is worth your time.

it is, for sure, ghosts n goblins. with all that comes with it

Good game for sickos

I regret paying for the edition with the lego pack. It truly adds nothing to the game - the default characters are pretty enough (imo) that using the Lego skins feels cheap. I guess get it if you really really really really really really really want it!

They put Age of Empires in Age of Empires II. That's pretty much it. I like it. Most people will not, because it is Age of Empires and not Age of Empires II. I think it's fine, and it saves having both games installed. Bonus : extra civ!

the biggest issue on display is the price : SEGA, you are out of your mind releasing this game at that price right when Mario Wonder dropped.

other than that, people complain about the game as if it's the second coming of the devil (from the bible) but it's a fine game. the act gimmicks are good, the characters playing differently is appreciated, the music is enjoyable, and i appreciate that despite shoving more "avatar" ideas in a sonic game it's relegated to something i can entirely ignore. i also like the emerald powers.

i also don't care much for the final boss being what it is because lol i have never liked a final boss in a classic sonic game they are all slogs and unfun to beat. Definitely a slog of a boss and a bummer way to end the game.

at full price? no. the value comparison (Mania) is immediate and obvious but on sale? i think it's a more than fine game.
