Man, there's a lot to say. Despite fans trying to gas up 06 and saying that it can be redeemed, this is somehow hailed as the worst Sonic game by some. While it's not *that* bad, it's also far from good.

Controls : Momentum makes no sense. 0-100, you just start zooming, you WILL die because acceleration is insane. Classic Sonic controls so bad

Level design : Insanely bland. There's a pulse here and there but you will forget about most of it. Visually pretty though, and some good ideas on that front.

The Avatar stuff : the Avatar is fine, but you are drowned in endless missions, endless pop ups for parts, ranking up??? A lot of weird decisions that just feel outlandish in a Sonic game

Overall, you'd be better served going for literally any other Sonic game. Just a puzzle of a game that I cannot and do not want to solve.

this is a good game and you should play it. the strategy aspect is fun, the mech designs are good (you are wrong if you think otherwise) and i would die for Piper

it's not a very good beat em up.

props to Wayforward for cobbling this together (or whoever pulled up to get it localized) but you would be better served by just... playing any other beat em up. even from that era, there's better. it just feels clunky and your move array is very limited and not satisfying to pull off.

still the game and soundtrack you remember. unfortunate that SEGA decided to delist it, hopefully this means a repackage or the remaster/remake are close than we think.

the gameplay is fine, the controls are good and the game looks fine (sometimes to its detriment, because it makes it hard to tell what you are actually looking at in terms of enemies and background)

but this progression is insane? either you keep your materials by ending your run prematurely, or you keep pushing with your build, losing everything on death. that works fine in a survival RPG or a game with a hardcore mode but in a roguelike? where the point is to keep pushing forward see how far you can get with your build or to potentially turn around a bad run?

it feels like the game is just at odds with itself, and while i do like a game that tries to spin off its own ideas or augment the game with quirky things, this just isnt it, and you would be better served playing one of this game's contemporaries like dead cells or skul

if you have a tolerance though you might enjoy this niche game, but it certainly is insane and is not for everyone

this is a good shmup and you should play it.

this is one of those 7/10 game you will either hate or love

performance is a bit rough on deck, but after some tweaking, it can work fine and i genuinely think this game is worth playing if you like passion projects

this is a good video game i got filtered by the dark souls DLC

i like the gameplay. the rest of.... everything feels like a chore. half baked overworld to trudge through to do quests an uninteresting traversal of it, tons of numbers thrown your way...

when you get to dungeon crawl, it's fun. decently so. the gameplay is alright, having the possibility to swap characters (once you unlock them) is great, and having abilities tied to both weapons and characters is a nice idea, but unfortunately it feels much of a chore to play. the game shows its roots.

props to the team for turning a disastrous MMO into an actual single-player experience (with co-op!) that feels mostly alright to play. still recommending it because while there's some tediousness, there's still something interesting for diehard fans of the genre.

it does not run great on steam deck and i ran into a severe bug that made me unable to progress so i gave up.
