hear me out : what if you wanted to play an open world game with combat based around the early HoMM games? great news, that game exists, it's this one, and it can be yours for like 7 dollars. not convinced? it goes on sale for like a dollar. pure rpg slavjank (affectionate) served on a platter just for you my lord, at more than affordable prices.

the game is fine. levels are okay, story is fine, but i am leaving a thumbs down because this game is *nauseating* to play. your camera constantly shakes no matter what you do. melee attack? shaky cam. shoot? shaky cam. run? insanely shaky cam. attacked? shaky cam.

it's not the first or the last game i've played where the camera moves a lot but the way it moves in *this* game made me insanely nauseous and for that alone i do not recommend it. the game stands at very positive on steam, and i can see why, but i just cannot get over how sick it made me.

good remaster by nightdive, the logical follow up to doom 1 & 2, but also not a very easy game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

game requires a bethesda account, but you can skip the "requirement" by just cancelling the prompt. goes on sale for like 2 dollars, so a decent pick up!

another good job by nightdive. hexen + heretic in a more modern package (accessiblity features/controller support/modern resolutions).

hexen is a game made by the devil however

witty & clever writing makes the game hard to put down. i am in general not a fan of horror but the way the game presents itself cleared any hurdle i would've faced on that front. i must slay the princess.

a good duology of "b-tier" rpgs - games with a bit lower of a production value, but a strong core. it's an iteration of the DS games with very similar raising mechanics.

if you hesitate at full price, the game will drop to very very affordable levels on sale, but i think the games are worth playing regardless. a decent entry in the digimon games, albeit not one that will change anyone's mind on rpgs or digimon.

absolutely 100% recommend reading fata morgana before requiem for innocence.

i liked fata morgana but i think the quality of the writing is ever so slightly better here. good stuff. love to feel sad about these characters

fantastic 2d action game. looks, sounds and play great. a total homerun. please play this game.

the most 7/10 game. it's fine. the umbral mechanic gets tiresome because you eventually just get spammed with enemies, the levels are a tad too big for my liking and i don't think the game looks too great visually - it looks fine but areas look incredibly similar, especially when in umbral. multiplayer also seems to be an issue, where friends pass (or just co-op partners) cannot seem to access features like rune socketing or certain equipment upgrades.

boss fights are a highlight though. they're pretty alright!

Deck performance also ain't too hot, passable at best.

would recommend on sale if you are eyeing it. an alright game, but one that's easy to pass on if you have other games lined up!
