Update after having put in 240+ hours:
While I enjoy the activity and variety of the fishing, and I tried to see if it was worth it to give the game a chance:

The game travel cost to each location is high
The size of keep net limitation which limits your ability to earn in-game currency
You can't travel back home to cash out your catch and go back without incurring the travel cost, which is high.
You barely make enough to cover the travel and license cost.
The costs are set high enough to basically keep you plateaued without much chance to move up.
Licenses expire in real time. So if you don't grind for the 24hrs, without a big bag of fish in the keep net, you lose the travel and license cost.
The premium account (paid for) allows you to earn more and shows what you could earn if you had it.
It's basically pay to keep playing.

Ideally this game would tone it down with the forced grind, but they choose not to.
Meaning, those who want to casually enjoy variety of the maps literally can't do it.
YOU WILL GO BROKE DOING THAT.

Just keep these things in mind so that you prepare for the game without losing too much time in it.

I've had the game for a while and played it a lot.
The #1 issue is the cost of what allows you to enjoy the game: fishing in different locations !
You will be forced to grind hours to earn for larger keepnets, which is the way to keep fish.
You have to keep the fish to earn money.
You have to earn money because it costs multiple thousands of dollars to travel.
It also takes hours to fill up a keepnet with fish and you have to do that otherwise, you lose a lot of money.
You can't pause fishing once you travel so that you can take a break and your license will expire.
Again, these are massive sunken costs.

Meaning - you will be stuck not enjoying locations and forced to play the free lake.
You will lose money faster than you can enjoyably earn.
This game is great if you want to just play for a bit and walk away.
95% of the game is behind hours of grinding and there's no way that I will grind hours within one day without turning off the game just so I will not lose money ....

Get it to have fun for free. Forget trying the other locations 90% of the time. Noth worth the hastle
