The game is short but very fun and cute. Not quite worth the full price of $15 considering it can be finished in only a few hours so I would wait for a sale.

Removed Terrorist Hunt and AI missions with randoms. These were my favorite modes as a non serious player.

A good co-op game. It is slow but fun if you don't take it seriously. It is like Stardew Valley but with the main focus on story progression and fighting monsters for loot. It can be grindy at times but they apparently plan to fix this in a future updates. Either way I thoroughly enjoyed 100% the game with my friend (who had just started playing pc games a few years ago so the slower pace was good).

So far I have really enjoyed my first game and I am extremely excited to finish it, but I can not recommend the game in its current state. I hope the developers see this and fix the game as the potential is clearly there.

Pros:
  1. The game is a modern unique twist on the civilization genre. It feels like they took civ 6, modernized it, and removed many of its annoyances. For example, each building does the math for you and tells you how much you would receive if you build that building now in your best tile. There are a lot of new mechanics to explore and have fun with like the new commanders changing how warfare works or the new independent cities replacing barbarians/city states.
  2. Builders are gone and districts have been combined with buildings. Placement adjacency is a lot more complicated then in civ 6 but I see this as just a part of the learning curve.
  3. I love the current graphics. I find this game a lot more enjoyable to look at then civ 6.
  4. They added some type of account progression. Seems interesting and a neat way to track stats and progress. I am worried about how this might affect multiplayer play, but my friends and I generally don't treat this game as a competition anyways.
  5. Civ 5 you could build tall (only have a few cities) and civ 6 you needed to build wide (have as many cities as possible) to win. This game has seemed to find a good balance in between. It rewards you for expanding but you can leave them as lower tier cities to boost your main cities making turn management easier. If you want to go wide you can but there is a slight punishment for doing so.

Cons:
  1. The UI is terrible. I can't even imagine what it would be like to play a multiplayer game with such hard to navigate through UI. Turns are slower as a result and its a lot harder to micro manage (a core mechanic needed for pro players and harder difficulties). The information is there but you have to go looking for it. Why do some messages stick around and others fade instantly?
  2. The amount of content is not worth $70-130. Settings are almost non existent both for game customization and appearance. I understand the number of civs are smaller with the new age mechanic and it just coming out, but why are maps limited to standard in size? Its called standard as is supposed to be the normal/middle option not the largest. 3 map sizes and 6 different map options of which 1 of them is shuffle.... If you want your money worth, just buy civ 6 complete edition on sale.
  3. The animations for wonders (the buildings) are anticlimactic. In civ 6 you would see almost every brick being placed. Now its just a slideshow with a small amount of confetti at the end and long waiting between slides. I get that the final product is cool but this is a clear downgrade from civ 6. If there was tons of wonders in the game I would understand, but as mentioned earlier there is not that much content currently and this shouldn't have been that hard. Spending 10 turns to witness a little confetti is rough.
  4. So many key mechanics are missing. Why can't we automate exploration? Why does hovering over maps not display how many players it contains or what "continent plus" means? Why can't we queue techs or civics? Why can't we edit map settings for resources or AI distribution? If I wasn't a returning civ player I would be clueless.

I am sure there are many more comments that could be made about the game, but those are my main concerns. Overall I think its a good start to a more modern civ, but its obviously still in early access with a price listed as if it was fully released. I hope the developers read this comment and fix these glaring issues, but until that happens I can not recommend this game to anyone, especially at this price. New players and people looking for multiplayer should avoid it at all costs especially. Its fun and I am excited to keep playing it, but these glaring issues need to be fixed before I can recommend it in good conscience.

Amazing with friends and the developers are constantly making it better by always listening to their fans. To quote the game "Friendly fire isn't".

Early Access Review
The game is good and I enjoy it. A lot of the mechanics are interesting, and the over clocks plus different guns, characters, and maps can allow for some unique builds and runs. Biggest problem is that, like many others, I feel like the balancing needs some work. I have died at the end multiple times on the boss fights simply because my DPS is too low (despite my crazy high level). This is because if you don't kill the boss fast enough you get swarmed and die.

Scaling as fast as the bugs is hard to do in higher hazard levels without skill and luck. I would honestly find the game a lot more enjoyable if it was simply easier. For example:
- less bug spawn/health scaling
- buffing upgrades (both meta progression and inside the level)
- Doing a few bad runs to just unlock over clocks and drop ship items are necessary as both are extremely powerful.
- Either an automatic magnet when you leave the level or more time to leave. In actual DRG you can choose when to leave, here you are ejected instantly and it is extremely hard to do everything on the level, especially with low movement and mining speed.

After all those comments it may seem crazy to recommend the game still, but I do truly enjoy it and can easily see myself sinking tens of hours into the game despite its problem. This makes it worth the price for sure! I also have hope they will fix some of my listed problems like balancing as fast as possible.

Civ 6 is a great continuation of the Civ series. It has high quality graphics and unique game play that focuses on building wide as fast as possible. The game and its DLC go on sale often, so waiting can be very profitable.

One of the best roguelikes out there! The game has amazing replay ability in both story and gameplay! It deserves all the awards it has won and is so fun to play!

Great game, especially if you played the first Subnautica. This game is more story driven then the first Subnautica, so I would recommend you play them in order just because it will probably be more enjoyable that way. Definitely would recommend both, especially if they are on sale!
