It's an RPG where all the grindy combat and running around everywhere has been replaced by point & click and hidden object mechanics. There's virtually no way to lose, so HotK gives you all the fun without the frustration. It's a pretty satisfying and relaxing way to spend 4 hours.

It's more frustrating than fun, but the worst part is that it fails to live up to its potential. The concept, music and aesthetic are all awesome, but the gameplay is incredibly tedious, and a lot of the time it relies on random chance more than skill.

This game is too punishing - if you slip up, you'll get busted/killed and have to restart the level, losing up to 10 minutes of progress. Sometimes you can evade or kill the cops/bouncers that chase you, but often there's nothing you can do about it.

The worst part is how slowly your character moves. At best you can sprint at the same speed as a drunk person, but you will quickly get tired and they will outrun you. Combine this with often getting stuck on bits of the level and you will find yourself wanting to throw your controller through your screen.

A fantastic roguelike. If you've ever enjoyed a roguelike, ToME is worth every cent.

Awful camera that never seems to point where you need it, excessive use of QTEs, and unresponsive combat controls.

I've only played for an hour, but I can't see this game actually becoming fun any time soon.

A charming and fun adventure game. Dropsy has interesting characters, a good sense of humor, and just the right level of difficulty. Definitely a good buy for any fan of adventure games.

Fantastic game if you like building factories and advancing through a tech tree. This is the best mining/crafting/base-building game I've seen yet! At time of writing, there's over 20 hours of non-grindy mining and crafting before you get to the grindy end-game content. It's still being worked on, but the lower tiers of tech are highly detailed and optimized. You won't feel like anything is missing until you get to the end game content.

If you liked Modded Minecraft, Space Engineers, Terraria or Factorio, FortressCraft is going to consume your life for about 5 days. Make sure to book time off work and make peace with your loved ones before you start playing.

Pros: Fantastic story. Great gameplay.

Cons: Heavy & near-constant use of both sides of the controller - it gave me sore hands. I did not get the "feels" many other people report. Still fun though.

Conclusion: Worth buying at any price.

MechaNika is like somebody took a regular Point & Click Adventure and removed all the bits that weren't fun. It's a concentrated, 90 minute game that is interesting and enjoyable.

There are some downsides: It's so short that I was able to finish it before I had even earned 1 trading card, and I've now 100%'d it but still have 4 trading cards left to get. Also, the text speed and walking speed are quite slow, which gets quite frustrating.

If you like point & click adventure games, even though it's short, MechaNika is definitely worth its $2 sale price.

For a game of this length, there really isn't that much to the story, but it really makes you work to see those small shreds of story. Even with a walkthrough to get past all the "puzzles", it's painfully slow.

This is one of those old-school adventure games where most of your time will be spent listening to unskippable dialog, pixel hunting or trying random combinations of items. Anybody who has tried a Telltale Games adventure game, or anything as modern as Fahrenheit or Heavy Rain, will find Overclocked more frustrating than fun.
