The writing is phenomenal. I don't remember why I bought this game, but I know for sure what kept me going. The twists kept me on my toes, the satire kept me laughing, and the realism actually hurt. An Outcry was an experience I won't forget.

Everyone is flawed and it's actually good writing. The characters speak & act like they're in the moment, not like they've had a room of writers spend hours considering every sentence and plot point. It's quite refreshing.

I'd probably only recommend this to people who have experienced trauma and understand how it makes you act. I haven't had my empathy exercised to this extent by a game since Super Columbine Massacre RPG (2005). GN, P will linger in my memories for a long time and I'm grateful for the experience.

It's a cute story with kobolds and good voice acting.

As the store page and other reviews mention it's pretty short. If this worries you, I recommend starting with the dev's previous game, Dragon Audit, which has much more content for its price.

I never even managed to get into the game due to bugs or server issues, but now 6 months after uninstalling the game I found that its "Xigncode3" DRM is still actively running on my computer. wtf. This is malware.

Gold of Lotusland is an interactive movie with all the makings if a cult classic. Superficially it gives very low-budget vibes, but if you give it a chance the immaculate cinematography and deep worldbuilding will draw you in. You can just feel how much soul and passion has been poured in to it. Its story is a metaphysical masterpiece in the leagues of The Thirteenth Floor or Dark City, and it deserves to be seen.

Every few levels the game completely reinvents itself. There's just so much fun to be had, and I haven't even started working through the huge number of mods in the workshop. The gameplay loop of planning-racing-improvising is exhilarating, and the destruction physics are just so much fun. Plenty of games have already tried these ideas, but Teardown is the first where everything is perfectly interwoven into an unforgettable experience.

€20/US$20 is a steal. I give very few games an unconditional recommendation, but this is one of them. If you enjoy games of any kind, you'll probably love Teardown.

I enjoyed it a lot. Great puzzles, well presented.

I played it single-player - it's more challenging without other people because a lot of clues are hidden in the environment, but it's still possible to do alone. There's a built-in hint system in case you get stuck.

"Meh" review. It's decent, not amazing. Worth €15/$15 at most. Their earlier game, Prey Mooncrash, has similar gameplay but MUCH better execution:

DEATHLOOP's story segments and core gameplay are fun, but its mid-to-late-game pacing ruins it. Roughly half of your playtime will be speedrunning between objective markers unlocking clues and/or new equipment. You run out of places to explore and meaningful character upgrades at the half-way point, but still have to do a ton of objectives to get the rest of the story. It's a chore.

It tries to use Immersive Sim-style gameplay by offering a variety of weapons, powers and tactics, but they're so unbalanced that there's little point in experimenting. My first non-"common" gun was a silenced SMG that could headshot someone from 50m away - no other weapons could even compare, and I just stopped trying new guns after a while. The same happened with the powers.

It's like a bargain bin cross between Duke3D and Serious Sam. The level design is particularly good, and there's a lot that will surprise and delight you. Worth every cent.

Branching paths and 8 possible endings based on choices made throughout the game. You have to repeat the game to see the full story. No manual saves, no reloading previous saves, no skipping cutscenes, multiple clicks needed to skip each line of dialogue. This game has no respect for your time.

The story I got with the first ending was relatively interesting (albeit obviously incomplete), but I'm not prepared to spend another 7 hours mostly repeating content to see the rest of the story.

This anti-player crap has ruined the experience for me. I'd have had a great experience if I could have skipped through the parts I had already played to see the other endings. Now I'm left with a crappy choice of either abandoning it with an incomplete story, or spending MOST OF A DAY replaying it to see the other paths.
