Better than the original, although too many underutilized mechanics, but overall pretty fun!

Rough, unpolished, uninspired, not scary.

"What’s coming next (Chapter 5) will be the most ambitious, most immersive chapter in the Poppy Playtime universe—crafted with more passion, care, and imagination than ever before. Mob Entertainment has evolved a lot over the last 4 years, and we can truly say that Chapter 5 is going to be the best yet."

Soooo that was a lie. Better than chapter 4? Yes. Best chapter yet? Absolutely not. I held out hope that the catastrophe that was called "Chapter 4: Safe Haven" was going to be an isolated incident. I could forgive it, as y'all lost most of your team (even though it was self-inflicted) and you were trying to find your footing again. This was in fact not the case. It sadly turns out that the geniuses behind the lightning in the bottle of the first three chapters were the same ones that left the team, as I can't even say Poppy Playtime feels the same anymore. Y'all are just becoming a greedy corporation that's willing to slap Poppy Playtime branding on anything to get money. I'm of course not speaking ill of the devs or artists who actually carried the backbone of this game. You can see they're really trying with what they are given to work with, but it's not Isaac's blueprint anymore. Y'all higher ups need to get it together.

+ Better than chapter 4 in nearly every respect, although that's not really a high bar to pass
+ This chapter continues the trend of the story/lore slowly descending into darker themes and territories.
+ We actually have new hands this time around!
+ Gameplay unique to hand usage is back again!
+ Although quite unscary, I love Lilly Lovebraids' backstory and lore as a character
+ YAY! YOU GUYS CAPPED THE PRICE AT $20!

- Environments are FAR TOO BRIGHT and quite a lot of sections looked far too similar
- STOP. CHANGING. THE. LOOK. OF. THE. GRAPHICS. You guys struck gold with chapter 3 graphics, yet you changed them in chapter 4, and now you changed them again. It changes the feel of each chapter, making it feel less and less like Poppy Playtime. I'm not saying the graphics were ever bad, but Chapter 3's were definitely the best
- Suffers from one of the same issues as chapter 4's gameplay: Too much empty space and too easy of puzzles. If I wanted a walking simulator, I'd actually walk to get the benefit of exercise. The gameplay is much improved from chapter 4 though, so it's definitely a step in the right direction
- Character Screen time balancing is still horrendous. Poppy and Kissy didn't show up until the last 1/3 of the game, Chum was actually a lovable character to me, but just dipped 1/3 of the way through the game. Giblet disappeared 1/3 of the way through the game and came back at the last 1/3. Such a mess!
- With all of the empty gameplay with absolutely nothing happening/having no progression to the story, there is NO JUSTIFICATION for a chapter 6. Y'all were lollygagging heavy for the first 1/3 of the chapter.
- Huggy's animations were really odd to me and didn't look good to me. Comparing them to chapter 1's vent chases make these look robotic and unnatural.
- The Prototype's design is really good, sure, but A SIX YEAR WAIT? No, it's not that good.

Chapter 3 is the greatest installment of the Poppy Playtime franchise so far. The first 2 chapters had many others and I skeptical on how far MOB was willing to go in terms of horror, but chapter 3 kills this skepticism very quickly.

+ Very significant improvements in graphics and sound
+ Story goes much deeper and darker, the tone shifts from liminal spaces with fluorescent lights to dark and disturbing, always feeling like you're being watched...
+ New hands introduces a genius mechanic of swapping hands and needing to use multiple or different hands for different tasks
+ Puzzles are perfect. Very challenging, but not in the way where you just want to quit because it's unreasonable, but in the way that keeps you intrigued and wanting to solve it.
+ Amazing environments, dark shadows with horrors that may or may not be lurking within them

- Any time you enter a new area, you get a black loading screen which breaks the immersion
- Objective cards were introduced that makes me feel like the game is being spoon fed to me. I get that some people may like them, but I wish there was an option to turn them off.

Much Better than Security Breach, although not without its own faults.

+ Fun and engaging gameplay
+ Interesting story
+ Jumpscares are great (Almost peed my pants a few times)
+ Great balance of linear and freeroam gameplay
+ New Puzzles
+ Environment completely different from anything we've seen in a Freddy's game (In a good way)
+ Nearly Bug free!

- All endings are horrible, really takes a big edge off the game
- $40 is a bit excessive in my opinion, this game is nowhere near the size of Security Breach (Has the same price tag)
- Experienced quite a bit of Game Crashes, but not enough to the point that it makes the game unplayable.
- Pacing was pretty mundane, didn't feel like Steel Wool took very many chances.

With the extreme success of Chapter 3, I had extremely high expectations for chapter 4. While it wasn't particularly bad, My disappointment was immeasurable, and my day was ruined.

+ Best ending of all the chapters
+ Story became much more emotionally captivating
+ Graphics and player movement animations greatly improved
+ New puzzles

- Super buggy launch, many bugs were game breaking
- Lack of wire puzzles that made the first three engaging, fun and iconic
- Hand usage wasn't balanced, the purple hand was hardly used and the red hand didn't make sense, just there for filler until it was turned into the omni-hand, I thought that upgrade was awesome
- parts of the game felt extremely empty, filled with surface level puzzles
- at many times, when momentum seemed to be picking up, it was instantly lost
- Secondary antagonists were half-baked, little screen time and/or screen time jaggedly spread across the game
- Additionally, boss fights were underwhelming and were unstructured, unlike in chapter 3
- Doey being put on the face of chapter 4 kinda made it expected that he was going to be evil in the end
- Pianosaurus teasers made no sense, y'all just gave him 3 seconds of screen time and then killed him lol

EDIT: Also, making it $20 when it is the same length as chapter 3 (Which is $15), but lower quality in nearly every department is crazy work. Just stop increasing the price at this point unless y'all decide to cook again.
