This is only the 2nd MMO I have played but I've gone much further and played much longer in PG. I tend to avoid multiplayer games of any kind, but PG is the exception. The game captured my imagination long ago, and it hasn't let it go yet. It seems to me the developers are working really hard, and making big improvements on at least a bi-monthly basis, which is exciting waiting to see what new craziness is added. Even though the world is odd and often funny, it has an internal logic that somehow works and there is a lot of backstory and lore ingame already. Also a lot of the NPCs seem like their lives could give a soap opera character's life a run for its money in the drama department. The community is great and there usually people willing to help you out with info or quest aid.
