Notice: I may not have many hours but I don't just play on this account.

7 days to die in my opinion at release, was very flawed and a really really crude version of what this game is today. I'm glad that the developers really fixed a lot of these issues such as sound design, crafting and other misc bugs. You may think the sound design is still bad but it was horrible at release and I would not reccomend it then. Another major problem with this game is the balancing. Loot, weapon damage and zombie health are extremely unproportional to eachother. For example a large slow moving zombie will have way less health than a faster moving crawling zombie. Actually, I remember building a small house and a crawler broke my wooden door and I shot it five times in the head to kill it. The vanilla game to be honest is horribly designed. Of course this is only my opinion and that's why thankfully the developers have added modding support. This is the only reason I would recommend this game, if a zombie has too much health? Mod it and change the stats. You may be saying to yourself "Yeah. but won't that require a lot of work and coding?".

The answer is no because the game takes advantage of XML (EXtensible Markup Language) and someone with no previous knowledge of programming can edit these files. For example with no previous knowledge of modding 7 days to die (I just used the code the developers put there as an example) I made a full mod pack that included.

-Usable Ovens (I reused code from the campfire and also got a cool particle effect to work with it too)
-Craftable Gun Parts

Normally you find gun parts in the wasteland and have to read the schematic for them to be able to put the thing together. (I disagree with this method) In my mod when you find the schematic for a gun you learn how to make the parts for it at my custom workbench I added called the Weapon Press and you can always disassemble and assemble guns without knowing the schematic.

-Improved Loot
Gun safes actually spawn guns now!

-Guns have their actual names instead of just "Pistol" and "Sniper Rifle"

-Damage tweaks to all guns

-Zombie health tweaks

-Light Class System

-Prepper Class
Hunting Rifle
Basic Civilian Clothing
Military Ration (Feature of mod)
80x 762 Round
Hunting Knife
Tactical Bacon (Feature of mod)

-Merc Class
N-PAP AK47 (Yugoslavian Semi Auto AK) reciever can be replaced with rare AKM reciever for full auto. (Feature of mod)
Military Uniform
Military Ration (Feature of mod)
NVG Goggles
90x 762 Rounds
Machete
Tactical Bacon (Feature of mod)

-Civilian Class
Civilian Clothing
44 Magnum
16x 44mm Rounds

Of course with all of these tweaks it would be too easy, right?
WRONG!

My mod which my friends and I have jokingly named "1 Day to Die" is a mod that tweaks every aspect of the game to improve it and make it less annoying, except for zombies. The zombies will now completely screw you up during the day all the zombies have certain traits defining traits rather than just looking different such as the smaller zombies running at you with the cost of having low health and the bigger zombies moving slow but having a large amount of health. At night the zombies can come at your base relentlessly (if you do not have a well protected base it's all over!)

I know that many people will disagree with my changes that's why I just made the mod for myself.
(Though, if anyone wants I will gladly make a forum page and link it here.)

That sums my experience with 7 days to die if you hate certain aspects of survival games this is the chance to fine tune one to your liking! Who knows, maybe if you make a nice looking page on the forums for your modpack, a content creator might take a look at it and do a playthrough of it. As I know certain YouTubers love to play 7 days to die modpacks!

It was a great game, so they completely scrapped it for Rust 2.0. It took me a while but I finally got hooked on the new Rust but that isn't the first mistake Facepunch made that had outcry from their growing fan base. Which the introduction of the XP System we've seen three wipes of the official servers it's gotten to the point that Seattle 1 at its peak has 50 or lower players the highest pop servers are Tokyo and Moscow. As of 7/14/16 do not buy this game, Facepunch doesn't listen to their fans, bans them from their forums dismisses any suggestions and goes through with buggy updates that end with everyone's stuff being wiped in order to "Fix Issues", if you have a brain, you will wait until release!

I don't understand why everyone has to fight eachother over whether this game is a scam or not, and make points that other early access titles such as Rust and Ark are making more progress. I feel as though, many people don't actually understand game development other than what they've heard from status reports and updates from the developers. I want to make one point, as I am a game designer myself I will say that things such as items, vehicles and etc, do not take nearly as much effort as working on the engine. The DayZ developers did go through a lazy phase where they stopped really pushing updates, they have stepped it up to complete this game and I'm sure that they will, the .60 update that was just pushed to stable branch as of yesterday is a big step in the right direction for this game, this is possibly the biggest update the game has ever got the legacy Arma engine is a piece of litteral ♥♥♥♥. Now that they got the new renderer in, I'm sure they'll focus on the new character controller and a new scripting language for coding gameplay things.
