As a person who loves JC series, U'm comparing this game to JC2.

+Great landscape. The islands are really beautiful and numerous, with many things to explore.
+Mediterranean atmosphere. The game makes you beleive like you are in some Italian islands.
+Now, apart from shute and hook, Riko has winguit and rocketpack for extra awesomeness.
+Quite good storyline.
+Railroad.
+You can destroy bridges.
+Upgrade system.
+Some great DLC

-No big planes. In JC2 we had big civil planes along with military ones.
-Like in JC2, main quests are all the same without any difference ( THey joke bout it themselves tho)
-Challenges. I really don't give a damn that someone beated my score.
-Uprgrade system. New, but useless.

Is it better than JC2? No. Is it good? Pretty much.
