it's a less stressful Papers, Please with better music and excellent voice acting. what's not to love?

i just want kassandra to beat me up

this game is very cute. the music is good and the animations are lovely. but that's about where it stops being enjoyable. the controls are wonky and the swimming is the slowest, most infuriating part. every time you mis-angle yourself even slightly, you fall into water and you have to move painstakingly slow to get back to where you were before. it's also incredibly easy to get lost and have no idea where you're supposed to go. spirit of the north boils down to: collect flowers. use flowers. collect some more flowers. after raging at it for seven hours i honestly don't think i'd recommend this game.

spectacular worldbuilding and storytelling, and very fun combat mechanics. definitely has replayability value and lots of things to explore. Aloy is a very well-rounded and relatable protagonist who just gets sassier as time passes and it's just so endearing to see. all in all, wonderful game, highly recommended.

mind-boggling, an absolute delight to play. i love the aesthetic of this game.

i absolutely loved exploring every facet of this game. being able to turn into different creatures was a unique experience and it was also the cutest thing i've ever seen. the ending made me cry, i love the message of the game. i love that it's about forgiving others, but also about forgiving yourself. i am glad this game exists. do yourself a favour and experience it.

i thoroughly enjoyed the story and the animations were spectacular. the ending made me cry so it's an automatic 10/10 in my book. some of the platforming was a bit hard to get used to at some points you jump a split second too soon/late and you don't make it, and the dot puzzles made me rage quit a couple of times, but all in all the payoff was rewarding.

persevere through an empty world to find your voice again and find strength in spite of solitude. a unique take on defeating one's inner enemies. without a word of dialogue, GRIS manages to be beautifully profound. the soundtrack and visuals drove me to tears a couple of times. i cannot recommend it enough.

one of the very first games i replayed the absolute crap out of and still do when i feel the need to play something comforting. little Aurora's perseverance and strength are inspiring; as well as her undying wish to stay true to herself. personal growth, we love to see it.
about the gameplay itself, i personally ADORE turn-based combat in games; it gives me enough time to think of a strategy. learning what strategies work best against different enemies is very fun and it feels quite satisfying when you get it right. i could also just spend hours flying around and looking at how insanely beautiful the game's landscapes are.

this is a game about acceptance and making peace with the temporary.

it's okay to let go.
