Just over 12,000 hours on my file between Kong and Kartridge. NGU grabbed my attention pretty well early on where I stubbornly played without feedback from fellow players on whether what I was doing was dumb or not (hint, there's a Discord in the Info n Stuff in-game). The community is overall nice, and 4G is active on the Discord. Not to mention actively developing the game and taking feedback/ideas from folks.

NGU (Numbers Go Up) starts out a bit overwhelming with the amount of information it throws at you, but each feature you get has a nifty 'WTF DO I DO' button on it to take you to the in-game help pages to give you a rundown/general guideline of what you should be doing with that feature. That not enough? Discord is there too for the community to help you with questions you'll wonder why you didn't figure it out on your own earlier (we all have those moments, judgement will be swift, but fair). Play with some blood, experience, whap things in Adventure, or sit in a Tower of infinite Pissed off dudes for those sweet gains. Plenty to idle around in for quite some time!

Progression has been worked on nicely during my time playing (and still is being worked on!) to the point that players joining now will reach where I'm at in less time than I spent (generally speaking). Features being fleshed out, new zones, and the like.

Can definitely recommend folks to give it a try for a couple months. It's satisfying to see my goals roll-over like hitting the 1m EXP/day on my fruit, 100m, then 1b, or getting that fat PP more than one Perk Progress Point/kill in a certain feature/zone.

Much idle, such wow.

Lastly... :69lol:

ITRTG was my introduction to the Idle gaming Realm about two-two and a half years ago. If you can't tell by my play time - I've enjoyed the hell out of it. Typically I'll play a game for a couple weeks (maybe a month or two if I feel it's a decent game), before I put it down and move on. I had ONE period where I put the game down for two months because I didn't understand a mechanic of the game.

The UI, while not the most intuitive at first makes more sense if you give it a bit of time to get used to. There's also a community that will help you, both in IRC (in-game or via your own IRC client) and Discord.

Pros
-Active Developer - Ryu is very active in the community, Kong, Steam, and Discord. The game is still getting attention even while he's got other projects ongoing.
-Plenty of content to go through (several years)
-Number crunchers will have a good time min/maxing
-You don't need to stare at the game to make progress, though you can if you so choose.

Cons
-Daunting to get into initially
-Some things are lost in translation. Ryu speaks english, but it's not his first language, so the phrasing on some tooltips lead to some misunderstandings (counter Pro to this - the community can help you with this if you're willing to ask!).
-Some tasks in game seem daunting (There's a challenge set that may take approximately a year to complete, give or take a few months).

Don't be afraid to give it a try, make mistakes, and ask questions. We're all here to have fun!
