Meh. Not really what I expected. The game's system is very confusing and tutorial messages get lost amidst a torrent of constant radio messages and notifications coming from everywhere while you are trying to accomplish something. Combat is arcade-like and is not unforgiving at all on standard difficulty, but the base building grind is really boring and confusing. There are other more interesting zombie games out there.

I'm not into button mashing combat, but if you like a lot of button mashing, this might be for you

Mostly entertaining game. Level up, get more damaging weapons, upgrade them and deal even more damage. There are about 6 classes of undead, so it's not that varied. Variety of weapons is Diablo-like: lots of them.
A big deal breaker is that combat and movement controls are bad and you'll often get killed because of them.
Final score: average action game, 3/5.

What is best in life? Craft, craft, craft - Yawn

After playing dozens of hours I'll say that although all the crafting hooked me up at the beginning, it soon became an endless grind, and 99% of the game is survival crafting grind and the remaining 1% is actual adventure and action, which I really don't like for a Conan themed game. If it were some Don't Starve themed game - whatever, but it's friggin Conan, man! Also, while you craft craft craft along the riverside you get some lore only about your bracelet with the sailor by the Sentinels, some ruins from a fallen civilization and that's it. There's no actual story presented, you are just expected to level up so maybe you can go to another place where you're supposed to do something about your bracelet and passing through the Ghost Pillars, which will probably involve killing dozens of bosses to get some item together.

The controls were usually getting me killed, and it's easy to get killed in a very dangerous place and therefore losing all your inventory forever as enemies respawn all around your dead body, and there's no savegame even on offline single player, so you have to start crafting stuff all over again. Also, combat is not very well developed or diverse - in a Conan game!

Also, there are basically only two builds: the mostly agility and the mostly strength build. I thought sorcery could be an option, but it's not, as there's no option to be a sorcerer at the beginning of the game.

So, all in all it was interesting but not what I had expected.

UPDATE: I decided to play the much older Age of Conan Unchained and it turned out to be much more like a Conan game should be, even though it has got some of its flaws as well.

I figured out that something was fishy, but I felt railroaded. The existence of different endings was totally unclear, even though I tried to get a different ending.

The concept of gameplay itself is very innovative for a horror game, where you basically have no constant visual feedback, not even darkness- just a map with X and Y coordinates and a proximity sensor to avoid collisions. Other than that, you have to use the camera to actually see anything, but just snapshots. Very creepy concept and atmosphere overall.

This is a LONG game, so it's sure to keep you busy, and successfully combines classic Tomb Raider acrobatics and shooting action with the new survivor and character skill tree mechanics. I'm just not a big fan of button-mashing sequences, but they don't ruin the general experience.

It's an interesting piece of thought to pass time. It's better than Fingerbones and it builds tension.
Just don't expect any masterpiece. It's okay for the price.
