A very fun and accessible MMO raid simulator. Now you too can get yelled at for disrespecting Ordained Stillness without the commitment of a couple hundred hours.

The best sequel to Silent Hill 2 you will find out here. If you are a fan of psychological horror or eldritch horror, you owe it to yourself to check out Signalis.

Despite the cheerful facade the game starts with, OMORI quickly gets dark and delves straight into heavy topics such as loss, guilt, depression, and suicide. The developers tackle the topics with a maturity and subtlety that you don't find in many other similar games which try to do the same but often fail by ham-fisting their message or try to be overly preachy with no respect for their audience's intelligence.

Though the turn-based rock-paper-scissors combat is simple to pick up, it neatly fits thematically with the narrative by inflicting party members with emotions with strengths and weaknesses against other emotions. There are some important narrative moments which also cleverly use emotions to create that sweet ludonarrative harmony which you'll encounter should you play deep into the game.

The game's heavy narrative had me hooked with the mystery presented early in the game, but what kept me going were the heavy-hitting story moments that I personally related to in some way, and the love and sympathy for the characters you'd inevitably grow close to as you played the game. Even after all the tragedy that takes place, even when it seems that the characters won't be able to pick up all the pieces of their shattered lives, you still cling onto some hope that they just might have a happy ending, that in the end everything is going to be okay.

However, even with the dark and heavy themes looming over the player and the characters throughout their entire playthrough, the overall message, at least how I interpreted it, was one of hope and learning to forgive oneself. The experience is something I definitely won't forget anytime soon, and hopefully at the end it'll leave you pondering deep into the night like it did with me.

Someone kept shilling this game in a Discord server I'm in. Bought it and played about 12 hours so far. Without a doubt I'd recommend this game to anyone.

One of the most underrated games of all time. If you are a fan of metroidvania games this is a must-buy. Both the story and the gameplay are up there with some of the best and the boss fights are truly a challenge that hold nothing back. There's a reason why many consider this to be the mother of all modern indie games.
