I know that writing a review for a delisted game is basically pointless.. but.. this game really deserves it.

I'm a hobbyist simracer (have a decent setup with motion simulator, Fanatec DD, triple monitors, VR etc..) and after a few years away from the hobby I decided to have a comeback to test the new Assetto Corsa Evo. I found the game incomplete (obviously.. it's just v0.5 of early access..) but more than anything incomplete because they removed the career mode (very upsetting). Also.. I'd say it's a bit TOO sim racey for my taste (some cars a bit too unforgiving..).

So as I wanted that kind of ongoing immersion, but also a bit more easy, I thought I'd try Forza Motorsport (2023). What a mess! The worst, stupidest AI ever. A terrible arcade experience, totally unrealistic. Races without qualifying, where you decide where do you start on the grid.. no, thank you.

I thought about all the other games.. even the original Assetto Corsa.. but no career mode there.

I thought.. how is it possible that this is the state of the art of sim racing in 2026? Isn't there a decent game that is realistic, not too hardcore and has a decent career mode? And so I started looking around.. and I remembered of the old PC2 from 2017, that had been sitting for almost a decade in my game library.. almost untouched. And I thought I'd give it a try. AND WHAT A BLAST!

I won't go too far trying to explain why.. but this is THE game I wanted. It's realistic, it's immersive, it has ALL the settings you need.. all of it way better than the 2026 games.

Meh, it's super arcade and .. not as good as Forza Horizon. The Crew used to have its own identity, with the full US map, now it's just a badly done clone of FH, but with worse physics. At this point, play Forza instead.. no reason for this Motorfest

I'm sure it's amazing for those that love the extraction genre but it's just not for me. I'm a Destiny player that did stick from day 1 to the Final Shape, and mostly into PvE, with 12 years and thousands of hours of experience. I'm not ready to give Bungie another decade of my life understanding a messy UI, managing inventories, learning skills, collecting and improving loadouts.. and then once I'm invested be let down, especially as I'm not into this kind of game mode.

But I tried it enough to see that if they wanted, they could still make a great D3 - and that's what I want from them.

I agree with people that says that removing the Career mode is fraudulent as it was a key element of how the game was marketed and the real gameplay innovation which made this title unique in the PC market.. now I'm only hoping for a good Eifel free roam mode because I didn't feel the need of an AC 2 and wouldn't have bought and supported it. Hope Kunos can listen and revert this decision. Deliver what you promised instead of developing 5 games at a time (yes AC Rally I'm pointing at you.. you might be great for rally lovers but who are we free roam / single player / career players to you Kunos, a joke? a cash cow to milk?) dai ragazzi.. non si fa così

It's much better than the other F1 manager game. I read it's been discontinued for future seasons which is a shame.

Okay so the game is great, and has great potential. And I get it, it's Early Access so it's unfinished and so the shortcomings are just normal.. the game needs to be completed.

But.. at the moment it's simply not so fun and not for so long. You start a game, level it up to the max in about 20 hours.. and then it's over. You just have nothing else to do, you just watch years and years of the life of your town pass by without any development, uneventful unless it's some bandits or another lord challenging you, then you do the odd battle, and if you lose the game is over.

You could try to do the same, conquer new land and extend the playtime by developing neighbouring areas - but that's pretty much it now. You just repeat the above in a nearby lot of the map but there are also many limits to making them work together. Like two neighbouring towns ruled by the same lord can only make some bartering exchange through a mule and you can't even build connecting roads, seriously??

The game needs more features and refinement and apparently all that is coming extremely slow.. like it's taken almost a decade to make a game that will bore you after 30/40 hours.

Therefore, even if I'd like to recommend this, I feel like the game is already overrated and my vote is for "No" just to balance things out and hopefully to stimulate the developer - he seems to not need more support from more positive reviews.

They promised us the epic "beginning of the end" - they delivered Nimbus. Guess they were honest in their own way.

Totally missing on the original promise of D1. D2 was always a let down, this D2.5 is just another step towards that very sad end for this otherwise potentially amazing game (literally the game I've spent 90% of my gameplay time since 2014).

You always go back to Destiny for the game mechanics, but the story.. has been a total wreck since the times of "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain".

2025: F*ck this, just play Destiny Rising instead

2023: this is the game that took 99% of my playing hours on Steam, been going on since 2013 with D1 on PS3.. definitely more than just the thousand hours logged here

Idk.. I play all (car) sim racers but this thing.. I just don't get it. It simply is a frustration generator.
