I have to say, the game is really good. And for those of you crashing and burning on launch, I am gonna have to say that it's your hardware, lol. No issues, lag, or crashes here.

EDIT:

Thanks for the thumbs down. I'll elaborate.

The game is good in the sense of exploration; it IS infinite. Are there some repetive planets? ...Obviously, dude.

The gameplay is literally identical to subnautica (amazing game), just in space rather than under the water. Even the graphics are reminiscent of that game, but maybe actually lesser. The mining laser and pressing e to interact with non-laser mine-able things is also just like subnautica.

The sentinels are incredibly annoying, especially if you decide to follow the path of atlas (you should get some respect and space from the sentinels then, since they are atlas controlled)

As far as lag goes, I really have none, but my computer cost me almost $4k just in parts before I built it - it would stomp most of the pcs reading this review, so if it isn't working for you, sorry about that. Yes, they could optimize more (as most games can) but it plays perfectly fine for me at about 50fps on average. Which, I am currently hooked up to a 1080p hdtv anyway, so my cap is 60fps. Boohoo.

Multiplayer - they lied and it is unacceptable. People have gone to the exact same planet in the same galaxy and to the same space station and not been able to see each other. That is total BS, and should not be tolerated.

This IS, however, one of those games that are not alt+tab friendly at all if played in fullscreen.

I am thoroughly enjoying this game but I am also not one of those self entitled overly expectant whiney little brats like most of the reviewers on steam are. Sorry, but it is true. Top review is somone whining about how the star system is inaccurate. Are you F***ing serious, dude? Are you??? That is retarded.

I still recommend this game to anyone who enjoys survival games, exploring and inventory crafting. If you want something on a budget that is literally just as good but a bit more confusing and a lot more dangerous, get Subnautica. That game def trumps this game hands down.

That better? More info. Maybe leave a comment rather than just a thumbs down you nit-picky mugs.

It seems like since the dev team took over this map as dlc, it isn't getting updated. Which sucks because prior to that, the map dev was working on it all the time. I love this map, and I have a few hundred hours on it. I prefer it vastly over the island. However:

Where are the new dino spawns?
When will you add redwood to it?
When will you fix the water spawns? 80% population is megalodons and dunkyls
Why are dinos still falling through the map ocassionally?

Update this map!

I'm sad because I was really excited for v243 to hit tonight and then I realized, I won't get to enjoy any of the new features for god knows how long. :/

As a map, it's amazing and I don't plan to change until "uncharted" in workshop is finished.

Early Access Review
Alright, I feel the need to update my review. This game is incredible. I cannot think of one $60 game that I own, out of the 300-400 titles I have purchased for both console and pc that actually has more content. And it still isn't finished. I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on this game- online, offline, server management, modding - it's incredible. This game is already worth $60, but I paid $16 on another site. Then, they release a paid DLC and everyone goes mad. Why? Because they offered their premium style game at a discounted price from time of launch and need to make some money so they can pay the guys dedicating 100s of hours a week to the development of this game? OMG, BOOHOOOOO. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

To leave a bad review of this game because you don't like the developer's business model is a betrayal of the review system and a direct violation of people's trust for that little review status under every game. You idiots made this go from an "overwhelmingly positive" game to a "mixed" game.

What do you think that does for the game? You think when everyone sees that and neglects to buy it that then the developers will magically have all the money they need and finish the game you think you're so entitled to? No. It'll end there, with a bunch of whining losers on the internet that think they know how to run a business.

Do you think you're helping other players? You think when they pass up playing 500hrs of a game that is otherwise fantastic and packed full of things to do, even in a vanilla state - not to mention add in some modding and server settings - that you're f*cking helping them?

Shame on you.

This system is meant to review the game. Nothing more. Not the company. Not the other reviewers(look what you've made me do here). Not the business model.

Just the game.

Did you have fun playing it? Hell yes.
Are the graphics pretty damn amazing? Oh yes. (If not, it's your gpu, not the game.)
Could it use some optimizing? Yes, but that takes time and ALWAYS comes after most content is added.
Is the multiplayer good? Oh yes.

Would I buy this game AND the DLC at full price again and again?

*looks at my wasted $7000 collection of other games that were beaten in two days*

Yes. Yes I would, because other than minecraft, there's no other game that makes it so easy to sink 1000 hours into it.

Shame on all you people and your over-entitled complaints that are tainting these reviews.

Do you understand that when 10k people fail to proces this and leave bad reviews for what is actually an incredible game, despite their error in releasing paid dlc in early access, more people will not buy the game? This takes money back out of their pockets. And then who will finish the game? Hm? Tell me. I'll wait. THESE REVIEWS ARE TO BE FOR THE PRODUCT- NOT JUST FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO B*TCH ABOUT NOT LIKING THEIR F**KING BUSINESS MODEL.
