It's ok. Not my favorite. Some parts were boring or just not funny. Kind of a slog to get through at times.

Far below Monkey Island 2 on my list of great adventure games, but definitely a fun one to play.

Recommended, with a caveat, AND ONLY for die-hard Monkey Island fans who loved the first two games.

The caveat? This is nowhere near as good as the first two classic games for many different reasons, explained very well by the creators within the notes of the game. It actually kind of made me sad at times, returning to Melee Island and ultimately Monkey Island, during the course of the game, looking around and seeing just how much things have changed.

It's like they say, you can never go back home. Neighbors have moved or died, businesses have closed or been remodeled to the point of being unrecognizable, the atmosphere is... different.

So, if that's what you're looking for, go for it. I mostly enjoyed it. But now, I really just want to go back and play the first two games again to scratch the itch that this game can't even reach.

100% recommend. I love everything about this game.*

*Edit: Except for the VERY nasty bug in the part “Underneath The Brotherhood,” specifically the task, “Defend Marie-Louise” and there is no one solution for it. Plenty of coincidences if you google it or check the discussions, since there are a few diff “fixes” that don’t work for everybody.

My solution was dump-shocking Marie-Louise out of the Matrix, rather than taking the normal exit. Try to remember that.

It def has a better ending this time. Worth it on sale only. It's a little slow and somber. Good game.

I like the theme and art style, but the english translation needs improvement. Also, it's only 2+ hours long. Ignore my playtime.
