Edit: There are enough custom maps that are enjoyable to update my review. I still do not believe it is worth the price (especially since the quality experience comes from work not performed by the developers). If you can get for ~$15 bucks then Id say buy. Otherwise, the devs should look into hiring community mappers to improve the experience with their own songs.

I fell into the hype for this game, so i bought in....... and will be refunding. The game is an excellent display of how refinement of a singular idea can play out very well. I commend the devs for keeping focused without trying to add a million different things. However, the flip side of that is after a short period of time it was apparent that the only thing seperating Hard Mode from Expert was memorization.

Pros:
Custom music and home grown beatmaps are great and well done
Environment is made well and refined for a VR experience.

Cons:
Not enough freedom of play. Hard mode is too simple, Expert mode is just memorization which is not my brand of fun.

I really enjoy this game, it is absolutely worth the price tag even in its EA state!

The only CON I have experienced so far is the way songs and beatmaps are found...

People can make terrible beatmaps that make little sense for a song. It would be nice to have a "hide" feature when i come across these in the game.

It would also be nice to sort songs by "most played" and others just so the beatmaps that seem to be better rise to the top of the lists over some of the lesser ones.

I look forward to the improvements throughout Early access!

This was fantastic and for the price tag of $0, there is no reason why everyone shouldn't experience this game.

This is absolutely fantastic, especially considering the price point ($1.50 from Steam Summer Sale). I look forward to the implementation of multi-level support!

It amazes me how people are so willing to complain about things instead of enjoying them for what they are... I paid 12.99 for dawnguard DLC so I could get this for free on PC. The game looks noticably better and that is what SE was supposed to do.
I agree that it completely sucks to have most of the mods gone, but they will eventually return. Even if they don't return, complaining about a game because it doesn't have the MOD you liked shouldn't reflect on the SE review. This was absolutely worth the price point for me and I look forward to playing fresh as a nudist two-hander battlemage.

I haven't even played the "Remaster" much yet and I still give a positive review.
Why? Because I didn't pay a penny for this! Everyone who actually paid for the remastered version is welcome to slam it all they want, but if you got it for free the only thing out of your mouth/keyboard should be THANK YOU!

The current state of this game is that is is a solid foundation for what the Pillars advertisements claimed the game offers. I hope that Hello Games does right by the community and releases a series of improvement patches to implement the depth that this game could easily offer.

This game could be great, but right now it is about as feature complete as an olympic pool with 2ft of water in it.

Update: They did right in the long run, good job Hello Games.
