Overrated, buggy as ♥♥♥♥...Fun with friends. But even if it would F2P not worth the time imo...
Ghost glitching through basically everything. You cant hide, you cant run, you are dead.
Some patches ago we were rushing through every map even on hard. Now the ghost is blinking, stuck, blinking again, killing you....

Ghost are meant to be catigorized, but they always look different and their behaviour is in most cases the same...I discover the ghost and then I leave it up to who to banish it? Nonsense...
Its like a pain in the ass simulator, do all the stupid work and leave the fun part to others.

This game could have 50 different ghosts, they would all feel the same.

Not sure about this.

I understand the positive reviews about this game. If you can handle the not so up to date graphics and that its working with tab targeting you might find a new home here if you are looking for an mmorpg.

Well grabbed this game in the Premium Edition for 7,99. Glad I didnt pay more...
Why?

The graphics are still good for a 2013 game. Frostbite Engine has a lot to show.
But when I read reviews like : "Still the best battlefield out there" Which I have read multiple times on steam, I feel really sad for the community.

Let me explain:

SINGLEPLAY:
Over 50% of the achievments are related to the singleplayer campaign, which is quite a lot so u might expect something.
The campaign, when I sum it up, was fun! The story was good and the characters had something to tell, you liked them somehow. So they did a good job there.

BUT:
The campaign is short 6-8 hours.

Friendly NPCS completly useless and ignoring enemies standing next to them.

In a sneak mission in the prison you realise that enemy KI is stupid also, they are standing on their dead friends, alerting noone.

Hard bugs in a 7 yo multi million dollar game, like in a swimming mission from the campaign. The swimming part is short, but it took me like 15 minutes to pass through in slowmotion. Since there was something driving me back all the way. When I swam to the side it worked perfectly, but when I have swum forwards I wasnt sure if I am still going forwards or standing still.

Its a animated rollercoaster with only one direction. The maps appear to be big and open, but they are full of trigger points you have to pass to spawn new enemies or spawn an attacking helicopter. No you cant run around this rock from the right side, an inivisible wall is blocking you, you have to run from the left side around the rock so another trigger can be activated and blow up a nearby vehicle for more dramatic. We all know this movie like scripted EGO Shooter games. And Call of Duty took it to the top. But somehow it feels pathethic in 2020 and doesnt make any fun.

Well, the last point is a personal reference and I know that its an old game and that Battlefield is not famous for their Singleplayer experience.

Achievments: completionists aware
Multiple Singleplayer achievments are bugged, and wont be fixed anymore as it seems.
This a problem appearing to different platforms, not only PC. Just a hint for those hunting...
The fix appears to be, finish the game campaign as often as it takes to unlock them, okay I wont...

Multiple endings....What a joke. I literally can see the advertsiment from EA - Choose your destiny, decide how it ends, multiple endings bla bla. You have to replay the last mission 3 times to get all endings. The ending takes like 15 seconds and 2 of 3 endings reward you with the EXACT same scene.... WOW. Stunning. F.

Oh I forgott that sometimes enemies in the campaign know exactly where you are, have unlimited ammo in their clips so they dont need to reload. Its fun when you play the campaign on hard and the grenade launcher boy 10 houses away knows exactly where he needs to shoot to hit you hiding in a corner he can impossible be able to watch.

Overall the campaign was easy even on "hard. But its pathethic making it harder with unrealistic ♥♥♥♥ like this.


MULTIPLAYER:
Thats why we are here, thats why I bought it.
I have played only a few hours with a friend so let me tell you what I have experienced so far.

As someone familiar to the battlefield games but no pro or someone who spent a lot of time with it, its incredible hard getting into it. So many vehicles and pro aircraft player killing you 10 times in a row. The more players more crazy it gets.

Weapon customization. There are so many weapons and gadgets in this game, even perks you can choose. So you might expect someone would want to watch them or customize before a game starts. Forgett it, you can only do it while INGAME. Yes, thats the most stupid ♥♥♥♥♥ I have ever seen. When I am ingame, I want to play so I dont loose the match, and not spent 10 minutes deciding what of the 50 scopes I am ducting on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weapon.

Playing in a squad. You have bought the game on steam, you are starting it over steam. But you cant invite steam friends, only Origin friends, GJ! Ofc Origin is launching in the background. You need to install it aswell.

PUNKBUSTER: Same ♥♥♥♥ like it was 8 years ago. You download the live battlefield 4 version from steam - actual version. You download Origin, you download Punkbuster and install this aswell. But you need to MANUALLY UPDATE punkbuster via their website, else you get kicked from multiplayer servers.

As Premium owner I got all the DLCs. I had to click on several DLCs to make them install from the steam store, some downloaded automatically, some didnt. Reload the game, click on dlc, download, repeat. 4 times. GJ there also.

Lets get back to squads, dont think just because you managed to join your mate in the lobby screen that you get on the same team, they split you up every f ucking time. What in gods name is the sense of squads then?

As I write those lines I notice that I should have written it down..... all those moments where you thought, really???
When I sum it up, for most people the community will be too full of hardcore veterans killing everyone with aircrafts or dont even manage to rid with punkbuster, many will realise they are not able to join their friends because they paid for the dlcs but the game didnt realise it...Many will be disappointed to never reach 100% due to bugged achievments.
I think even if it would be F2P its not worth time time for most of us..

So many flashbacks of my childhood. I was already sitting with a big smile in front of my PC when E.V.A. was "upgrading" the game in the initiation frequence.

Weird game...It seems at the first look to be a souls-like game. But its not. Even hated souls like - games like Lords of the Fallen were able to offer way better fights.

The game remembers you in every loading screen that if you need help you have to buy this and buy another stash upgrade for real money or buy shrooms or whatever. When u get manually skill capped due to endless grinds its not the kind of game I wanna play...I dont care to give away money for content or even some skins, but not for stat upgrades.

You have no idea what is even going on...There are like no tooltips for your spells, the inventory is just based on trial and error.
There is a tutorial which explains a few things but if you sum it up you try to kill the first enemy - succeed, try on the second enemy, die - uninstall.
