Personally, I actually really liked Storyteller, but it feels too short to justify the price tag.

The concept is great, the core gameplay (experimenting with the interactions between characters in different scenarios) is fun, and the way the game introduces new characters and scenes gradually makes for a nice build-up of depth... and then, right as the puzzles get complex enough to be challenging, the game ends. It's not like it ran out of ways to use its mechanics, either--a lot of the interactions are only used once or twice (the witch being able to transform, for example), so there's clearly plenty of design space left unexplored here.

Ultimately, I can't recommend buying the game in its current state--which is a shame, really. The concept clearly has a lot of potential, and the content that's there is good; there just isn't enough content! If the price was lower ($5 or so?) or there were a lot more puzzles, I'd be leaving a much more positive review. As is, though, I don't think Storyteller is worth the price of admission (unless there's a big sale on).

Personally, I really enjoyed this game. I like it when games are actually challenging, and Getting Over It--as you've probably already heard--is very much a challenging game. It's also genuinely difficult; the controls are rather unintuitive and hard to get used to, the physics feel a bit inconsistent at times, and a few of the obstacles were downright baffling--to the point where I began wondering how the hell anyone was supposed to get past them.

But then I did, and it all started to make sense.

Every time you fail, and fall, and then have to do the annoying parts again, they become that little bit easier. That doesn't mean you won't still mess up, of course, but every time you fall it takes less and less time to get back to where you were. As long as you don't give up--as long as you keep trying and failing and trying again--you'll eventually reach the summit. You just have to work for it.

If that sounds like a good time to you, buy this game. I promise you won't regret it.

...That being said, I can't in good conscience recommend this game in general. If you get mad easily, or you don't take well to failure, or just don't want to spend a few hours flailing your hammer against the side of a cliff until you make progress, then Getting Over It is probably not the game for you. If you don't think the feeling of triumph when you reach the top will be worth all the blood, sweat, and tears it takes to get there, then it probably won't be, and you'd be better off spending your time and money on something that you'll enjoy.

I may have liked this game, but you might not. If you think you'll enjoy climbing a mountain with a hammer, go for it. If you don't, or if you're on the fence, then you probably shouldn't bother. Simple as that.
