This game has gas tanks and oil slicks. That's already enough.

Also add in a dark atmosphere the whole way, intriguing themes the game tackles, solid gameplay mechanics, and a well-paced and well-structured story with more plot twists than an M. Night Shyamalan flick (and they're good!), this is a must-buy.

Because a game that can make a meme out of jumping off cliffs is a game worth playing for 80 hours straight.

Also you have the ability to eat anything, as much as you want, in the middle of battle, without getting a single cramp.

It's like chess, but awesome. Also basebuilding has depth.

Also mechs punching spider aliens is always satisfying.

A game which can make you spend $100s just to try to get a hat on fire is a game worth trying out. Not the spending $100s, just go buy one orbitted by machinery hardware.

Cuz when you can shoot a nuke out of the sky with a laser, kill a super weapon with your fists, and even fly using your sword, you know you got your game right.

From running your first city as it wards off waves of barbarians, to nuking your last rival civilaization's capital city into submission as it fears your sheer military might, there are so many ways to play this amazingly addicting game. You could be the scientific envy of the world as you are the first to launch your rocket into space, the always economically flourishing superpower, the militaristic fist of the world, or even the most cultural and visited city in the world. There's so many ways to play this game, and with so many different countries to play it with, this could provide many, many hours of playtime. The only gripe that could be said about this game is the fact that the trading system between other civilaizations could be a bit strange, as they could even refuse an offer where you give them free resources without them giving anything else, but aside from that, this game is just SO ADDICTING with a huge amount of replayability.

+ Huge replayability with its many civilaizations available to play as and ways to win
+ Huge importance bestowed upon you as you can run essentially everything in each city in your civilaization
+ Great military mechanic with army tax, advantages based on terrain, etc.
+ Detailed diplomacy scenes for each civilaization
+ Realistic advancements of time scaling with technological advancements
+ Lengthy games for each playthrough
+ Thorough settings to set up for each city in your civilaization
- In-game diplomacy can be a bit unfair
- When each game ends :(

Final Score: 9.9/10 (HIGHLY recommend this game, especially with the Complete Edition package, it's definately worth every cent and even more than that, especially with the Brave New World and Gods and Kings Expansion, along with the DLC.)

Me liek blow stuf up in dis game! It fun!

........For about the first 5 hours of the game. Then, following that, is a very linear story, with little interesting side games that the story REQUIRES you to play, clever writing being replaced with gratuitous sex jokes that 90% of the time fell flat, and even then, barely got a chuckle out of me, I swear, I had to force myself to play this before I got so bored with whacking people with a purple dildo bat. And don't get me started on Whored mod, it's so tedious, and pointless in itself, it's not worth trying. If Saints Row IV didn't come out the way it did, I swear this franchise would be dying. So to recap:

Pros:
+ First third of the game is entertaining
+ Purple dildo bat can be fun to play around with
+ There's a considerable variety of vehicles to use
+ Combat isn't terrible

Cons:
- The rest of the story is tedious
- Sex jokes replace previous installments' clever writing
- Side activities are mostly tedious
- Most of the entertaining factors of the game become boring after a while
- SPOILER WARNING: Johnny Gat dies at the beginning, WTF?!?!?!? (fortunately fixed in Saints Row IV)

Final decision: Not a great way to get introduced to Saints Row Franchise, you can skip if you want.
