Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy game by Paradox Interactive. In the game you can play and guide any nation through the turbulent years of World War II. You pick a nation, select your startdate (honestly, everyone picks 1936) and start the game.

All right! I have no idea what i am doing. I've picked a semi-large nation with some potential (Iran). Alright. Let's jump in singeplayer and let start by boosting me into early fascisism. Great! I can declare wars!. Oh... Hey... Stalin! What... up...? What are all these Russians doing on my border? .... All right.... Non Aggresion... no...? Eh.... WELL, let's invade Afghanistan and Iraq. Guaranteed by the British Empire.... Oh. Let's see... I've 30 divisions... Russia.... between 400 and a 1000.... yeah.. Germany... could you... oh... what.... why... #BigBlueBlob happend.

All right....

Let's play.... The People's Republic of China... The one and only China according to... well.. China. Everything going goooooood. Boosted Commie in the Other-Not-Real-China.... Great they all rebel and flip to mee! Sweet! Japan has been kicked out. Yeah! Part of the Commitern! YEEEEAH. Germany, Italy and the other little nazi's in central europe? beaten! Let me just wait here for the Allies to deal with Japan.... Yeah... Still waiting.... K.... Lets nuke them! They are .... not surrending... Lets nuke them over and over again! YEAH. No...? K.... I have no navy so lets do paratroopers into Japan. 150 divisions of Japan waiting on the beach.... mmm

-For now: Allied access to enemy territory (aka, millions of allies defending Russia...)
-Peace conferences are to buggy
-Germany and Japan ai failing every time

Still worth the buy! If you like other PDX titles you will like this.

Great game with many possibilies. You can litterly almost do anything. wanna form Russia as Moscow or as small Tver? You can! Want to revive the Blurple Byzantine Empire? Sure, remove Islam and go forth young Augustus! Wanna change history and leave the New World to the native amercans? Sure, westernize and send the Spanish back into the sea.

There are a few minor issues with the game currently (1.16) but the devs do a really good job with interacting with the community and constantly improving the game.

The game with all dlc's are ... expansive. Get a friend to buy them all and jump into multiplayer where the real action begins!

Very good game and its cheap now with the sale. For new players i can recommend the YouTube channel of everyone's favorite owl: TheWarOwl
