SUPERHOT has to be by far my most anticipated game, and for the most part, it delivered. Story wise, the game is short, but for the completionist inside of you (or if you want the game just because of the cool time mechanic), you may be looking at quite a few hours of gameplay. The Challenge, Endless, and Arena Modes are unlocked once you finish the story.

There is one thing that bugs me about some of the negative reviews, to the point where I have to say something. You may have read from them that the game is pretentious, saying that at the end it wants you to "spam your friends about the game." At the end of the game, yes, they do want you to do that, but if you pay attention to what's happening in the story, you'd understand why. It's not so much that it's pretentious, it's just a finale to the story. If you did pay attention to the story and still don't understand what's happening, then read this MAJOR SPOILER:

When your computer crashes because your character's system got nuked or whatever which is what happens after you kill yourself(?), the system starts to take over your mind. This is what's happening when the screen flashes "MIND IS SOFTWARE" and "THE SYSTEM WILL SET YOU FREE." When your character's mind has been completely taken over and uploaded to the system, the system then instructs you to spread the game in order to upload more minds to the system.

Overall, a great game, if a bit on the pricey side. Plus, VR support soon. So that'll be awesome.

At the turning point of the story I actually had to let go of the mouse, sit and stare at the screen, and just think.

11/10 would rethink my life again.
