Ever wondered what it would be like to live through the Black Plague?

Well, if you have, this is nothing like it, minus the rats, and the funny accents.


Massive improvement over Vermintide 1, with an actual progression system for each character, loot falling from the damn sky, and not rolling dice at the end of a map, hoping that doing a 3tome2grim will net you more than a green. (There still is kind of dice rolling, but it's to upgrade your chest, not to decide what quality of loot/ the item that you get.)

Pros;

-Difficulty (akin to L4D2 vs L4D, VT2 is much harder to start out than VT1.)
-Loot system
-Character Progression
-Weapon Variety
-Stormfiends (and their disgusting little rat-brain-fetus backpack)

Cons;

-Difficulty at even Recruit, is insane, and far too volatile. New players are defintely noticable.
-People that never purged Übersreik of Skaven filth, rushing through levels and getting themselves killed.
-System needs work to better reward/punish playing well, and having a bad time. I've had 5 min defeats on Against the Grain, because of 4 specials + Warrior, followed by a Chaos Spawn + Warrior, right at the start.
-Chaos Spawns (and their stupid little tentacle arm (it's actually massive af))

This game is beyond beautiful. The soundtrack, the gameplay, the visuals. This game is a must. BUY IT.

At this current Pre-Alpha stage, I would not suggest purchasing this title on the sole fact of the number of bugs that are present, unless you REALLY want in on the madness. Public Alpha begins in ~13 days (as of time of this review), and I would suggest searching for reviews after that on the game.

That being said, I really think this game is quite good in the regard of difficulty, panic horror, and setting/atmosphere.

I will be updating this review or adding another one in a few weeks when Public Alpha begins.

Pros:
-Difficult
-"Panic" Horror
-Atmospehere
-Beating cannibals to death with their friends' limbs.
-Cut down trees with a rock because who needs to use the axe.

Cons:
-No multiplayer as of yet.
-Very steep learning curve for combat, fighting 3+ enemies at a time depending on spawn/patrols, right out of the gate.
