I've been something of a completionist with To the Moon, playing all the little spin-offs and even reading the comics and playing the card game. Out of everything, Impostor Factory is the best follow-up to the original game. Like To the Moon, it tells a personal story about characters you didn't know before, without getting too bogged down in the sci-fi story that runs across the whole series. It came as a surprise when the game opened without the previous protagonists anywhere to be seen, but it's all the better for it. Only Impostor Factory and To the Moon made me cry, and it's because of the stories they tell about deeply realised characters and universal struggles, supported by another exceptional soundtrack.
It was a bold move to distance this game from the much-loved cast of the other games, but it really pays off here. Quincy and Lynrie's story is one that's just as compelling as Johnny and River's.
