Still a steaming heap. Play it in a couple of years.
Until then, CS1 with mods is better.

I was going to give this game a glowing review. If not for 1 poor choice which has ruined the game completely for me.

I actually think this is one of the best examples of physics gameplay that I've played. I expected the flying fish to be painful from reading reviews, but I found after some practice that it has great controls. reminds me of gliders in flight sim.

I love the way that the momentum of the water in water filled objects is a huge factor in this game, and is actually a really elegant implementation.
Players should bear in mind that on sections where you are in the balls /jars that you are not just controlling a ball or a jar, you are controlling a fish inside a ball/ jar that is also full of water that moves and has momentum. Until you respect those fairly realistic principles at play I can understand how some might think the controls are hard/bad.
The bread's hit-boxes are unforgiving when compared to checkpoints and other interactions, but fine I get that they are supposed to be challenging to collect.

Visually the game is great, art style suits the game's tone and genre. the 30fps default setting is horrible, beautiful running game at 120fps. I didn't find any performance or optimisation issues. Playing on a GTX 3080ti.

I enjoyed the various nods to pop culture, and lighthearted humour.

however, on the second level of the flying fish there is a section where a difficulty curve comes out of nowhere and punches you in the face and beats any enjoyment you were having right out of you.
On this section you are required to jump from one box filled with water to another on some shelving, each slightly higher than the last and each with a more difficult run up that the last. I suspect you may need to fly for the last jump using the long run up and turning tightly to the right, or with a big banking 270 degree turn to the left. However despite being pretty good with the flying mechanic the small room leaves no margin for error. Simply trying to take a straight or diagonal jump, simply doesn't work. It is not possible, or at least it wasn't for me with around 150 attempts.

Previous to this section I had only ever needed a handful of restarts in some other sections, which felt like it was giving a good level of balance of challenge and fun.

This section I have restarted around 150 times. I don't want to 'skip ahead to the next checkpoint' which is an available option. Why? Because I have already stopped having fun. Well done to whomever designed, play-tested and signed off on this section, you have just cost Bossa a loss of sale here.

Getting a refund on a game I have played most of because of one puzzle section may sound extreme, but I was having such a good time with the game before this room that it literally ruined my time with it, taking me from 'this is a favourite' to 'I HATE IT and I don't want to play I am Fish again'.

So the refund is a message to Bossa to quality test your games better. I can't believe a QA session on this level would render anything different from a group of new players. It simply doesn't fit with the experience up to that point.

Well done, good job guys.
