It's great, if not grindy. If I had to put a specific label on it, I'd say this is the closest you'll get to a merchant simulator. It's far more story-focused than most games, and to truely enjoy it, I'd HEAVILY suggest playing the browser game the developers made, Fallen London.

Free, runs on potatoes, and amazingly hilarious with friends. Favorite map bu far is da_hightower.

Hallmark of shooter games, a must have. Buy the Orange Box, it's worth it.

Game is good, and it plays to my fetish of watching the protagonists actually escape. 10/10

I guarentee you, after playing this game, you'll want to do just that.


T-34 is best girl. We can all agree on that. I mean, if you do the right things, you end up doing a one night stand with a British tank, but other than that, I perfer the T-34 as both my vehicle and wife.

Play game for a while: XR 3DA has stopped working
Turn off computer for a bit, turn it back on: Game will not open

Now we're at today, 3/24/2020, and I've been forced to factory reset my computer just so I can play this game. If that doesn't tell you how good it is, then I don't know what will. To anyone thinking of buying this game: be prepared to run into bugs and crashes. The XRay engine is more or less infamous for being exceptionally buggy and broken, hence the community joke that the Zone is held together with toothpicks and duct tape; the only remedy is to know esoteric troubleshoots, or make sure they don't happen by modding the game out the wazoo.

In conclusion: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: A great game when it works, an awful game when it doesn't.
